Begin Again - Superb musical

I am so glad I closed the weekend with this wonderful feel good movie which had some fantastic music and that would surely keep your mood upbeat and you would leave the theater with a smile and a heart filled with joy. Save the best one for the last surely did work for my movie watching pattern this weekend :) All the actors were outstanding - Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo,Katherine Keener,Hailee Steinfeld and every actor. Loved the music, sure to download the tracks. Recommended surely...loved the title 'Begin Again' an epitome of hope Have a great week ahead :)

Bangalore Days - A Whiff Of Fresh Air

Just the right movie in this awesome weather of Bangalore ... The initial incidents of the movie did bring back the memories when 24 years back we were posted in Bangalore from a remote corner of UP , the excitement that followed :) Still remember the 27th June of 1990 stepping out of the train in Bangalore Cantonment station in the beautiful weather chilled weather of Bangalore ..sheer bliss And can’t think of moving anywhere else in India :) The movie shows all my favorite places in Bangalore , I was completely immersed in the movie , not a moment of boredom in those 172 minutes. A story of hope, love, faith and everything nice :) All the actors in this movie are natural and a pleasure to watch. The actors who stood out were - Dulquar Salman( son of Mammotty), Nazriya Nazim, Fahadh Faasil, Nivin Pauly, Parvathi. Great movie by Director Anjali Menon. This movie is released in more than 200 screens across India with English subtitles so please don’t miss it. How I wish more and more such super movies of regional language release with English subtitles and none of us will be deprived of good cinema and yes will save us from watching lousy bollywood movies well most of them are lousy even out of boredom. The movie has been running in Bangalore for sometime so book your tickets before it stops screening. Recommended ..the best movie this week for sure. Saritha Radhakrishnan thanks so much for the awesome recommendation..loved the movie :)

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania - timepass if you think so :)

First few observations : - Alia Bhatt must have signed this movie before Highway and 2 States released - Karan Johar didn't have much faith in the new director that's why no foreign locale shootings and neither high end designer clothes or accessories were used, he did give him a shoe string budget to work on to prove his worth, and having seen the movie not sure if Karan will place faith again in him - Time pass movies should have good music I mean at least feet tapping even that was missing. It had all the makings of a time pass movie but they missed it.. Varun Dhawan was ok...Alia Bhatt was shrieking not one of her best performance for sure. The only guy i really liked was the Tele Star Siddharth Shukla of Balika Vadhu's fame and yes Ashutosh Rana too But when you have a good companyKakoli Roy and your giggling away throughout those 2 hr plus which otherwise would have been boring then you don't mind for sure If you go with friends and have intention of chatting up while watching the movie then this is the one for you.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - Innovative..great concept

There were humans and then there were Apes and then there were more Apes ,Apes talking like humans, Apes riding in horses, I think the movie had less humans Very innovative in terms of the concept and making of the movie. Loved the emotional connect between the Apes and the humans..something to watch out for. Today's highlight was meeting Milind Soman and yes the Tea Tasting session at Infinitea Bangalore :)

Taxi Driver - Awesome

One superb movie of Robert DeNiro ... this cult movie is a must must watch for every good movie lover...Grab the DVD like now :) Hindi version of this one 'Sadaak' is not even remotely any good compared to this brilliant movie... A superb end to Wednesday :) Glad this is my 100th movie of 2014 :)

Transformers: Age of Extinction - worth a watch for sure

If you have liked the Transformer series you are bound to like this one. The positive bit - the superb special effects , the awesome optimus and its transforming capabilities, the brilliant action sequences, the super hot Mark Wahlberg :) The negative bit - Wish it was a bit short. If you have been following the Transformer series then don't miss it even otherwise if you are an action movie buff then suggest you watch it. Happy Weekend :)

Ek Villain - awful :)

Not sure why but this funny line came to my mind when i saw this movie ' Jo apne biwi se kare pyar woh baaki sab ke biwion ka karen anteem sanskar' I know its crazy so was the movie hahaha :) Agreed everyone has got roles which they have never done before and guess what the audience are the guinea pigs to run this test :) Shraddha Kapoor is at her irritating best the moment she tries to deliver any line otherwise she is a pretty girl ;) Looks like prerequisite of a Hindi movie heroine is to have a good body and overall look good that's it noone cares most of the time if she really knows how to act :) Everything about this movie sucks including the so called good music. Sidhharth Malhotra looks great and he is decent so is Ritesh Deshmukh in his villainous avatar. Prachi Desai does she need to a sleazy item number now to keep herself going in Bollywood..pathetic Way too violent for my taste. The only good part about watching this one was that I was catching up with a good friend and we did a movie watching together after a long time and we had loads to laugh about :) Of course highly avoidable :)

Bobby Jasoos - A must watch for Vidya Balan's awesome performance :)

A light breezy movie with fun quotient intact and Vidya Balan the superb actress's awesome performance makes this one totally worth a watch and yes its worth the money and the time which does not go beyond two hours thankfully. But looking at the current trend of commercially hit Hindi movies like the awful 'Humshakal','Ek Villain' not sure if this one reach that stature but glad Debutant director Samar Shaikh came up with something different and interesting and not an awful potboiler Hindi movie. Vidya Balan was simply superb, she might not have the perfect body but her acting skills are far more superior actually no comparison than any of these wannabe actress we have in Bollywood these days, liked her very much in this one compared to her last two releases - Shaadi ke side effects and Ghanchakkar. She is a natural, sheer brilliance in the screen. The director did a great job of getting some brilliant actors together under one roof - Supriya Pathak,Rajendra Gupta,Tanvi Tazmi these are real actors. Loved the chemistry between Vidya Balan and Ali Fazal unassuming yet sweet. I liked the movie very much and enjoyed the night show very much - thanks to my kind friend for booking the tickets and dropping me back home A pleasant movie to watch during the weekend Recommended for sure And this movie has its heart at the right place A good one from Bollywood

The Fault in Our Stars - A Beautiful Romantic Movie :)

Based on the bestseller of the same name this movie is bound to touch your heart and will make you realize for that beautiful rainbow in our lives one has to go through its share of rain When I read the synopsis of the book I had thought the movie would be a bit morbid but glad all my thoughts were put to rest as the movie turned out to be quite a gem, focusing on the brighter side of life. I loved Director Josh Boone’s earlier movie 2012 released ‘Stuck In Love’ and liked this one too very much, he really knows how to touch the right cords. Loved the innocence of the main characters Guz and Hazel , all the actors have done a fabulous job specially Laura Dern and Willam Defoe. Dealing with one of the most dreadful disease is not easy and what I loved was there was no part which asks for sympathy from the audience but only encouragement and kindness. I loved the movie, the characters were real to life… Recommended for sure..don't miss this gem of a movie :)
