Love and Other Drugs - Don't judge a book by its cover..this one is going to shock you beautifully :)

The

posters of this movie can be really misleading till you watch the movie which has in depth story which is really heartwarming and leaves you wanting more.

The movie starts as a generic sex comedy but takes you by surprise and there starts a good love story which has both depth and enjoyable and interesting at the same time.

Yes the movie has lot of nudity and evolution of Viagra as well but thats not what the movie is all about..the movie is about discovering love in the most vulnerable situation of one's life and no matter what standing by each other how much ever weird the world thinks about at the end of the day its just about two people and rest of the world should not matter but alas in reality that is always not the case.

Anne Hathaway is one actress whose movies I just do not miss and I am glad I did not miss this one as well she was fantastic and conveys her insecurities so very well as someone who has Parkinson in stage one,she emotes so well her eyes kind of speak to you.

The chemistry between Anne Hathaway is sheer brilliant they both connect physically as well as mentally just so well.

Loved Jake in pharma sales guy's role every sales person like me could connect to him in some way or the other in someway or the other it was sheer pleasure to watch him, after all he is good looking and a great actor.

Issues such as serious illness, the workings of the big pharmaceutical companies and their attempts to influence the decision making of medical professionals, the struggle people have to pay for treatment are portrayed very well in this movie quite realistic must say.

And the era of mid and late ninetees are very well projected with pager and mobiles just coming up.

I really liked this movie and was quite surprised and very pleasantly at that.

Recommended recommended recommended :) So thats how much I liked the movie :)

Burlesque - Awesome Musical

It was absolutely fantastic to watch this awesome musical the art of burlesque comes alive with the magic of both Christina Aguilera and Cher and rest of the star cast the performers at the stage to be precise.

Wow what a strong voice Christina Aguilera has got, her sequences in the movie are just wow and has a great impact for sure.

The story is simple something which I am sure you have seen before small town girl coming to big city with lot of dreams to make it big and going through her set of turmoil and finally sets for the actual destination she came for and the journey which is so interesting and makes this movie worth a watch for sure.

Burlesque is real high on entertainment I am talking about Music of course and it is the music which makes it so good.

Loved the scenes between Cher and Stanley Tucci very emotional and funny too.

Stanley Tucci stands out as Cher's right-hand gay best friend/costume designer in this film.

Cher is excellent and powerful.

The costume design, casting, choreography and set design for this film are absolutely fantastic.

This is one dying art which should not never die

This movie is not a masterpiece but super fun to watch for sure.Enjoyable and recommended.

The Color Purple - Steven Spielberg's unforgettable classic

Based on Alice Walker's Pulitzer Prize winning Story this movie is one of those lesser heard movies but wow what a movie.

Steven Spielberg sure did come up with a winner of a movie with this one not very popular though I guess but I guess true gems in real life are always hidden as we always like the glam sham of the artificial world.

Like life this movie has equal share of happiness and sadness so people looking out feel good light movies should stay away from this one but if you are someone who appreciates good cinema I can guarantee you this will remain etched in your minds for the years to come and will inspire you for sure,if you are strong willed no matter what you will surely emerge as the winner yes there will be a struggle of course but the end result is something .

Like most of Steven Spielberg's movies there were no special effects, no swashbuckling, just brilliant story-telling based on a literary classic but what a powerful movie I am super bowled glad I came up with this one while looking out for movies starring Oprah Winfrey. This was Steven Spielberg's first foray into serious powerful cinema before his empire of the sun and schindlers list

The depth in the story is enormous each time I saw Whoopi Goldberg tortured in the movie I just wanted to go and kill the person who was playing her husbands role.Whoopi Goldberg is just out of the world.

Oprah Winfrey too shines out in a brief but powerful role.

I am so glad I was not born when this world was a male dominated one by torturous men I salute those women who stood up against them and paved way for us.Thank you.

This is an unforgettable which should not be missed.Recommended .

Blue Valentine - Heartbreaking

I solely wanted to watch this movie as a part of Oscar mania yes this movie is not nominated but the actress Michelle Williams is nominated under Best Actress category not sure though whether she truly deserved it but yes she did play her part really well as the sad person torn between love and responsibilities towards life.

This movie is about a married couple, showing their evolution and also depleting feelings towards each other over a span of years by cross-cutting between time periods, so every time the movie goes to this flashback which initially I did find difficult to follow but then I did manage to get the grip of the story and found it sad, depressing and heartbreaking to the extent that I started wondering why people ever take the decision of getting for all the wrong reasons possible under the sun and the aftermath of union only causes hurt and pain to all around so what is the point?

Let me be honest and tell you upfront this is no feel good movie but a movie which kind of introspects the reasons of how and why relationships fail.

Both Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams has given brilliant performances I think the void in Michelle's life due to loss of Heath Ledger is quite obvious I am sure she is still missing him badly.

I will never watch this movie again no its not boring but leaves a very sad feeling.

Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji - Nice hindi movie to round up Jan'2011

Must say January 2011 was a bumper month for Bollywood releases they have had real good openings and running's since the release of the movie 'No One Killed Jessica' and hope this run continues ultimately movie making is loads of hard work so both commercial success and positive feedback does matter for sure.

When I saw the trailer of this movie of course I knew I was going to watch this one and having made by an accomplished director like Madhur Bhandarkar and with a real good ensemble cast of Ajay Devgan,Omi Vaidya and the others I just had to watch but wasn't really sure if Madhur had handled the humor bit well as he is a master of making realistic cinemas and out and out commercial movies has been never been his forte but this movie comes as a pleasant surprise I guess a good filmmaker can always make a good entertaining cinema given any subject.

The movie revolves around three guys - Ajay,Omi and Emran and their perspectives about love and the various situations they face in their respective lives to find that something called love and somehow I feel there is nothing called true love its all a matter of convenience and priorities and that is something very very well brought up in this movie.

Yes we need one another but we can still live and live very without that one another...Life Goes On and thats for sure.

This is a nice romantic comedy with a lot of realistic incidents thrown which does happen around us.

Worth a watch for sure.

The Kings Speech - Brilliant,Inspiring.. A Must Watch

This is based on true incident about how King George VI, the father of Queen Elizabeth II, overcame his stuttering problem. He never really was considered to be the King because of his stuttering problem and because of his abdication he is but forced to become the king and deliver The King's Speech with the help of a little-known Australian speech therapist named Lionel Logue played Wonderfully by Geoffrey Rush to find his voice and courageously lead his people in the most difficult times a time when humanity faced the most devastating war.

This movie is extremely encouraging, inspiring, powerful and extremely moving. It emphasizes of the emergence of a deep friendship out of a professional relationship between two men who would otherwise never have socially interacted and these kind of examples is something we can all relate to and thats how we make friends in the most unexpected points and situations of our lives and people like these make us recognize the hidden courage we have within us and reinforces the faith in humanity that after meeting ten sarcastic mean people you will finally meet the 11th person who would tell you exactly how to get out of your fears and reinvent the new you which is positive.

The name of this movie might sound serious kind but no its a complete feel good and positive movie with good loads of humor as well thrown in it.This is truly a heartwarming story.

Coming to performances I think everyone is fantastic but of course Colin Firth,Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush completely stands out and deserves the oscar nomination every bit and this movie has the maximum oscar nominations this year.

Brilliant movie...A Must Watch

The Fighter - Excellent Film...its worth every bit of the Oscar Nomination

Boxing is definitely not my cup of tea so I was really procrastinating to get to watch this movie despite the fact that I have a special affiliation for both Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale and like Amy Adams quite a bit but somehow the boxing bit was holding me back even Hillary Swank's Million Dollar Baby' I hadn't seen it till much later and yes I did like it quite a bit and the same applies for 'The Fighter' and I would say I liked this one more much more and also I am in a spree these days to watch the Oscar nominated movies so I gathered courage today to watch this one and trust me no regrets :)

This is again based on true incident the hot favorite subject when it comes to Oscars they just love true incidents so do we when they are well adapted and well made and who does not like to see inspiring movies with a positive message .

'The Fighter' is based upon the true story about Boxer-Mickey Ward played by Mark Walhberg who is following in his brother Dicky played by Christian Bale's footsteps and is trying to make a name for himself as a boxer. Dicky has been giving Mickey advice and helping Mickey train for as long as they can both remember while their mother Alice played by Melisa Leo has been acting as his manager right from day one.

Some old bad habits of Dicky puts him in jail just before the appearance of Micky's new girl in life Charlene played by the adorable Amy Adams and somewhere Charlene and Micky becomes a team and gets a new management team to train Micky as Dicky is stuck in jail and Micky's family resists the same vehemently which includes mom and his sisters and seven sisters to be precise well they are a big family indeed.

So there is this huge emotional tussle between Micky's girlfriend who is now his wife and his mom and family but all is well that ends well yes of course Micky emerges as the winner beating the shit out of his opponents and yes gets ultimately trained by his dear brother Dicky.Blood is thicker than water for sure here :)

Coming to performances I think every character here is real to the core and everyone has done a brilliant job be it Mark Wahlberg,Christian Bale,Melisa Leo or Amy Adams,I am actually quite surprised that Mark Wahlberg did not get any nomination at the Oscars he deserved one for sure.

This film is worth a watch for sure for its fantastic direction and brilliant performances.

127 Hours -About the fantastic human spirit we all have and Danny Boyle is no fluke :)

This movie depicts the true incident of Aron Ralston played by James Franco here, a mountain climber and canyoneer who is a bit arrogant and reckless and whose arm gets crushed under a boulder during a trip through Utah canyon country. With no help coming from anywhere to save him, he must decide whether he will die or fight for survival and boy does he survive I guess it is our lives situations and circumstances which brings out the best and worst among us and then it makes us sit and wonder what passed by.

With an interesting title that of 127 hours and Danny Boyle's next venture after his much celebrated 'Slumdog Millionaire' had created curiosity enough withing me to watch this movie.

I had a fair idea its going to be about winning ultimately had got that idea from the posters and promos and it was indeed an amazing experience watching this movie from a simple hike in the Great Canyon area this one takes a solid twist when Aron gets stuck among the rocks and the struggle that he undergoes and finally comes out triumph is sheer brilliant and nothing short of an emotional experience just watching it.

Not for a moment my mind stopped imagining what I would have done if I was to face a situation of the same sort someday in my life knowing me I know I wouldn't give up yes I might get panicked initially and probably cry my heart out and then will have to keep my mind calm and work out all possibilities of survival and emerging as winner,I am sure there would be moments when I would feel I am so close to my goal and yet realise that its just a mirage and many failures and strong mind I am sure can help me out like it did to Aron. His experience is completely awe inspiring and something I am sure will remain etched in my mind always.

Full marks to James Franco for delivering such an awesome, heart touching performance its not a joke to just talk to oneself and still keep the audience glued to his acting, I always thought he was cute but in this one he has proved his acting power too.

I think this movie is better and much much better than Slumdog Millionaire but not sure how many awards this one would bag.

I really think 'Slumdog Millionaire' was definitely not Danny Boyle's best movie but wouldn't mind him basking in the glory for '127 days' its worth every bit of it.

A R Rahman's music was good but nothing extra ordinary for sure.

Watch this movie to celebrate the undying fantastic human spirit we all have within us.Recommended for sure.

Season of the Witch - Historical,Mythological And Witchy :)

This is not a fantastic movie true but not a bad movie for sure.

I can challenge these damn critics to make anything as close to any of the movies they sit and scrutinize and I am sure they all won't know where to hide their face and Mr.Khaled Mohammed is the biggest example- he was Hitler of a critic but when he changed tracks and made a movie it was sheer torture for the audience the movie had stars yes but in the name of direction and story complete haphazard,so why sit and do postmortem about something which you cannot create.

This movie is about 14th-century knights who are transporting a suspected witch to a monastery, where monks deduce her powers who they think could be the source of the Black Plague which is affecting many people's lives.

So you can expect a lot of special effects and a bit of blood and gore as well and the beautiful locales of Austria and yes sword fighting sequences as well.

Nicholas Cage is quite alright and the rest of the cast is watchable too.

If you have liked or remotely enjoyed movies like Wolfman,Dracula etc you will surely enjoy this one.

Tangled - I want to watch this again and again and is surely going to be part of my collection :)

Though this animated movie has released in most parts of the globe in the last month of 2010 but India had a release this weekend so officially this is the first animated movie release of 2011 and it is simply awesome.

Everything about the movie is extremely cute be it the characters, the animation, the story, the music, the romance, the adventure.

Disney and fairytales work together like complete magic and this time too the story adaptation of Rapunzel is sheer magic and with brilliant 3 D animation this movie is spectacular and worth a watch every bit of it.

The voice overs by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi are really good and gives the voice the edge that is required and we all know voice overs play an extremely important role in any animated movie.

The other two characters that stole the show were Pascal, the chameleon, and Maximus, the horse. Although these supporting characters have no dialogues but through actions and emotions they just stand out and are very adorable indeed.

This is an excellent movie and should not be missed at any cost by all ages. A Magical movie like this is not created everyday ..Please watch and you will thank me :)

Dhobi Ghaat - Arthouse Cinema..worth a watch for Prateik, no interval so you can't leave it half the way ;)

I was so disappointed yesterday when the show of this movie got canceled due to some senseless political curfew but was glad today when I got yesterday's refund as well tickets for today's show :)

I had kept an open mind and I knew this was not a potboiler or a feel good kind of movie as the trailers had made it quite obvious this belonged to the art house category. If Dabaang has been your favorite movie then it is but quite likely that you will not like this movie for sure..

I think the main protagonist of this movie is the city Mumbai itself the city which is always observing, yet non-participating like many other big cities anywhere in the globe.

The story is about four characters who have ended up in Mumbai in search of the missing element of their lives, their lives are unfinished, dissatisfied and for some reason all these four characters get involved in each others lives due to unavoidable circumstances and that is depicted extremely well and gives this story a certain uniqueness.

Among the performances I really thought Prateik Babbar was the best yes despite of presence of Mr.Aamir Khan this guy makes his presence and presence felt in a big way . He is a superb actor someone to watch out for and I think he should make his appearances in the movies more often and yes I really like the girl - Kriti Malhotra she plays the character of Yasmin and I thought was the sweetest among all someone who came to the city with most dreams and aspirations and got disappointed the most.

So if you are looking for timeless entertainment then sorry this movie will disappoint you but if you are a true cinema lover then you should watch this one.

Just Like Heaven - Really Good Movie..Silly..Sweet ...yet Sensitive

Wow what was I waiting for to watch this really sweet movie totally my kind of movie, romantic comedy with a dash of fantasy thrown in ...what a feeling the heart surely tingles when I see movies of this kind :)

So what if these kind of movies don't win awards but it does one thing definitely right and that is leaves with a good feeling and a smile in your face.

Unbelievable as it may be but the story holds your attention for sure with its nice light and sensitive and fun moments and is quite entertaining from beginning to end.

It was a complete pleasure to watch Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo together so was their chemistry in the screen.

While you watch this movie how an important role destiny plays in getting where you want to get yes of course efforts are important but it is one's destiny that changes one's course of life for sure.

They have depicted the bit about second chance in life in the most beautiful manner possible loved that bit.

All in all this movie is a sheer joy to watch..Watch it if you still haven't and you won't regret i am sure :)

Little Fockers - Hilarious Of Course :)))

Ok this is not a great fascinating kind of movie but not sure why it had got such bad reviews as this one is hilarious to the core just the way 'Meet The Parents' and 'Meet The Fockers' were.

I can guarantee that you will come laughing out of the theater like myself and my friend did.

The story starts where the Fockers (Ben Stiller & Teri Polo) are totally engrossed in their family lives with two adorable little fockers- twins at that and with a new house coming up and the little fockers' birthday celebration and new school admission taking place in parallel everyone is just too caught up and then comes the Byrnes to join the mayhem and the yes the pandora's box of confusion does open with the intervene of one new character- the medical drug sales rep in the form of Jessica Alba a total crazy character if you ask me and she follows a very very unique way of achieving her sales numbers and I leave that to you for your ripe imagination ;)

Robert De Niro as the ever constipated father in law is just hilarious the scenes between him and Ben Stiller are the best..specially the scene where he doubts the fidelity of Ben Stiller's Character and tries to follow him to uncover the truth I was reeling with uncontrollable laughter.

Dustin Hoffman,Barbara Streisand,Owen Wilson and Jesica Alba surely makes their presence felt and as well add to the humor of this movie.

This is a fun comedy movie..something you will laugh at and forget all your worries :)

View From The Top - Don't stop till you reach the top :)

I am glad I don't trust a critics review ever when it comes to watching movie I clearly with go with my gut feeling and listen to my inner voice and well much to others dismay I am surely right most of the time in my own eyes :)

This is a real sweet and charming movie no rocket science but a real sweet movie which touches the chords of your heart.

Its about dreaming and fulfilling your dreams and yes with everything in life there comes a price tag and so does it with dreams as well..so you must getting the gist of the storyline..

The movie is about about a girl from a small town in Texas who dreams of becoming an airline stewardesses of a world class airline and her journey towards the same.

This movie was short and sweet in the true sense it is just a 87 minutes movie which makes it a real nice timepass kind of movie without having to focus too much just go with the flow and you will enjoy it :)

The scene where Gwyneth Paltrow goes in her first flight is completely hilarious liked Mark Ruffalo actually always like him in all his movie there's something really nice about him..

All in all an enjoyable and sweet movie..

Indiscreet - Now This Is What I Call I Romantic Comedy :)

Wow what an awesome romantic comedy with mush and humor in just right quantity.

apparently the film was taken from a play on Broadway titled Kind Sir that had almost a year's run and starred Charles Boyer and Mary Martin. The entire play is set in the apartment of the leading lady. But this was a movie so they could definitely go much beyond and far of the apartment and in the streets of London and in the opera house and add that glitz that was required for this fun glamorous movie.

Ok I am not any Ingrid Bergman but the dream for finding that one true love is very much alive and I am not letting it die till I find the same in this lifetime :) And I know it will happen :)

Cary Grant plays the role of sophisticated diplomat who avoids marriage by making up a fictitious wife that he says will not divorce and Ingrid Bergman who enacts the role of a famous actress had somewhere accepted this but the truth kind of shakes her up and she too pulls up a fast one on him and of course yes it has a sweet nice happy ending and that what a good romantic comedy is supposed to do right ...

And the presence of two legendary stars makes every moment worth a watch such are the effects of true legends I guess.

I can assure you will have fun watching this movie and will end with a smile which will linger for sometime...

Go for it ...its a beautiful lovely film something which I won't mind watching again and again :)

Old Is Gold for sure :)

The Grass Is Green - A Classic Of The 60's

My God there are so many nice delightful nice movies and I am yet to watch most of them and this one lifetime of mine seems to be short for sure let me see how many of them can i catch before I go to sleep forever and sometimes i think my soul will still keep watching them :)

This movie was an adaption of play so it was more like drawing room comedy focused on few characters and every character had an extremely important role to play so there are these two main characters but other 3-4 characters had an equally important role to play including the butler and without them the movie would have been incomplete for sure.

This movie is like a Four-Sided Triangle and makes it a fun, interesting, entertaining movie to watch.

The movie is about infidelity which was a daring concept in the 60s

The one drawback I felt was this movie has too many dialogues they are witty for sure but anything in excess can get on one's nerves at times but otherwise a very entertaining movie.

Both Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr are superb their chemistry works like it did in 'An Affair To Remember'.

Overall worth a watch for sure if you are a fan of classic movies watch this one for sure..

Peggy Sue Got Married - A Classic From The 80s

This is one of those movies which are really nice and good but yet underrated I would rather ignored in the chart of popularity and thats a bit unfortunate.Such is life at times some great actions and motives go completely unnoticed at times.

Must say lot many movies in today's time is inspired from this one for instance 2010 released John Cusack's 'Hot Tub Time Machine' seem to have drawn many inspirations from this one for sure.

How many of us would want to go back high school/college and change the course of things to get a today which is different from the actual today that we are right now living in..guess the answer would be filled with completely mixed responses if you ask me honestly but thats the way it is :) the grass always seems to be greener on the other side of the fence :)

Ok now coming back to the story is what I have mentioned above which is going back to the past and modifying things to suit one's happiness which makes this movie a nice clean fun entertaining movie to watch out for.

This movie is a delightful and charming, a sweet little story about reevaluation and a second chance in life.

Kathleen Turner is superb in this movie,Nicholas Cage is strictly ok and is actually irritating,Jim Carrey was an expert in making faces right from day one I guess, liked Helen Hunt and Sophia Coppola in their brief but nice roles.

Grab the DVD of this one if you can..nothing can match the gems from the yesteryear's...

Turning 30 - New Age Hinglish Chick Flick

I would categorize this under the Hinglish movies and not Hindi movie for sure as you will get to hear more and more of English and very less of Hindi in terms of dialogues so yes the small towns of India might not relate to the subject and the content of this movie much but the metros and bigger cities in India can connect to this one big time I could one for sure sorry to differentiate this way but its true.

Yes people from small town after migrating to bigger cities definitely do very well but the fact still remains that the small towns in India be it any state are mostly bothered about pushing girls to get married before 25 forget about 30 and not that people in bigger cities are not this way.

Me being 30 plus and single can tell you for sure the kind of comments I get to hear from my colleagues/so called friends/relatives/family friends, neighbors some of these people behave as if they are funding my existence though for all you know they might be having the most screwed up marriages in their lives be it their own or their perfect children who found the so called right catch in the well defined right time and being in Bangalore and in a job why am I not able to catch the right guy yuck how I hate to hear these filthy statements but with time passing by I have realized these people are not really my well wishers and somewhere get sadistic pleasure in seeing me upset or worried so now I give a damn :)

And yes there is this horrible relative of mine who thinks my stars are all bad and I should marry a tree first to get over these otherwise problem hahahahaha ;)

And I know these same set of people will criticize me to the core whenever I decide to take the plunge so I have decided I will take the plunge then inform these kind of people knowing the kind of well wishers they are of mine.

Oh yes the most heard lines -now you can't be choosy... what the hell man this is one I will chose and only time I will chose so If i am labeled choosy be it :)

Coming back to the movie I could relate to this movie quite a bit and enjoyed it completely the sheer pain of break up of long relationship, losing your job because your boss is a complete jerk these are few things in life we all do experience at some point or the other nah i am not drawing parallels from the people who have perfect lives but people who have normal life with its share of ups and downs who have experienced both tears of joy and pain in equal measures..

I loved the natural performances by all the actors Gul Panag of course is superb so is Purab Kohli and Sid Makar.. The two friends - portrayed by Tillotama Shome [as Malini] and Jeneva Talwar [as Ruksana] - are perfect.

Enjoyable movie a good fun chick flick by a lady director herself - Alankrita Srivastava.

Go for it girls this movie is about us for us made by one of us :)

The Green Hornet - Watchable for 3 reasons - Special Effect,Jay Chou and Christoph Waltz

The first release in the genre of superhero and 3D movie of 2011 honestly is watchable because of three major factors one the special effects two for the cute Jay Chou and three for Christoph Waltz the guy who got the well deserved Oscar for 'Inglorious Basterds' apart from these three positive factors the movie didn't have much to offer for sure.

This is not the usual superhero story but the one where the supposedly sidekick/assistant is more of a superhero and the mastermind than the actual superhero.

So here's this spoilt misunderstood brat who inherits his Father's newspaper agency and after the sudden demise of his father he fires all the old staff at his house and then he realizes he misses the guy who brewed some great coffee in the morning and then somehow manages to trace him back and voila he also realizes that this person is a super dude with serious good knowledge about many stuff which he has absolutely no clue about and he decides to save the city and take on with the goons the result of course is mix of great special effects and not so great story.

Oh and did I mention this has Cameron Diaz oops I was just about to miss mentioning about her well thats the kind of presence she had in this movie...

Christoph Waltz as the villain simply rocks and his presence is majorly felt in the movie like that of Jay Chou's

So not a bad movie but not a fantastic movie either yes the special effects and humor surely works.

And I haven't seen the earlier series of The Green Hornet so there's no scope of comparison here..

Yamla Pagla Deewana - Wholesome Desi Entertaining Hindi Movie after a long long time

Ah I came out of the packed theater with such a good happy feeling now this is what I call a time pass fun and wholesome entertaining Hindi movie something which is amiss big time these days in the names of good Hindi comedy movie what we get is awful Tees Maar Khan kind of movies in the name of time pass but after a horrible storm always comes peace and 2011 so far has seen 2 good hindi movie releases one NOKJ and this week YPD and I have a feeling the best of 2011 is yet to come :)

Now coming back to 'Yamla Pagla Deewana' the story is a reminder of the wholesome entertaining masala Hindi movies of the 70s and 80s without a single moment of boredom or there are no moments which makes you ponder about s the director who thinks that we the audience are a bunch of fools spending 200-300 bucks per ticket to see some freaking 'Sheila Ki Jawani' or 'Munni Badnam Hui' nonsense in the name of entertainment...As I have mentioned earlier too its a movie makers responsibility to enlighten and entertain and they can't get away without fulfilling even one of them ok this is not enlightening experience but and entertaining experience for sure :)

Movies are meant to transport you to a world of make-believe in those 2-3 hours and forget ourworries/sorrows/trials/tribulations in the process and this one does that I can guarantee on that.

Watching the 3 good looking Deol men in one frame itself is a real treat and my personal favorite is Dharmendra the evergreen Jat who will always have a special place in my heart :) U r so handsome Dharmendra no so called Dude of these days are anywhere close to you :)

This movie has drama, laughter, emotion and fight aka dhishum dhishum I remember as a child I loved the part when the hero used to beat up ten villains in one go and still love it when it is done this way as in this movie.

I liked the new girl Kulraj Randhwa simple and sweet and like the guys playing her band of brothers role namely Anupam Kher,Himanshu Malik,Mukul Dev.

Dharmendra is endearing and charming as ever and Sunny and Bobby are quite good too in this one and that is the biggest trump card of this movie apart from being entertaining.

And the movie is shot in India and brings out the vibrancy of Punjab so so well.Recommended for sure...

Some Girls - Utterly Butterly Romantic And Funny

This not so popular movie I came across when I was checking out Patrick Dempsey's movies and must say I was completely surprised yes yes a pleasant one of course :)
And before I go about the movie have to admit men grow sexier as they grow older like the best of wines and can assure that in case of Patrick Dempsey for sure :)
The movie is about this young college boy(Patrick Dempsey) besotted with this girl(Jennifer Connely) and goes to visit her during Christmas at her place in Canada only to figure out that she really does not really love and then comes her neurotic family - Her father is a writer who spends most of his time wandering the house nude. Her grandmother mistakes Michael for her dead husband. Her two sisters express interest in him. Granny escapes the hospital and heads back to her home in the woods, and the family chases after her, and Michael is kept reeling and this would surely keep us the audience in splits.
This is not the mushy mushy romantic but has loads of reasons to sit and laugh loud really loud this one is a bit eccentric but a real enjoyable fare yes this one is not a masterpiece but a nice little gem which is yet to be discovered by many.
What are you waiting for Go Discover it :)Enjoy the small pleasures of life Friends :)

One Hundred and One Dalmatians - Vintage Animation

This one is a classic animation the story is simple yet very interesting and loved the sketches/drawings used for this animated movie are really nice something which the old classic animated movies had and which we don't get to see these days at all.
The story about these adorable dogs is really sweet love the scene where all the dogs possible in London starts barking one after the other.
This story also emphasizes the unity that exists among the animals and which is lacking among us humans big time we are extremely selfish and sometimes I really feel just for humanities sake very few of us really do anything until and unless there is substantial enough thing hidden in it for us and that makes me ponder how I wish I was a bird away from the human race flying high and attaining complete freedom :)
This is one classic movie which will never be forgotten and would always remain a vintage piece of work from Walt Disney..Watch this 1961 version which is the original one if you can you will enjoy the same immensely I can guarantee you on that :)

Dumbo The Baby Elephant Whose Over-Size Ears Always Get Him Into Trouble! :)

This is a super sweet animated movie one of the oldest from Walt Disney this one was released in 1941.This movie is about this baby elephant called 'Dumbo' is shunned by all the other elephants for his gigantic ears, and his mother has been locked up for protecting him, so he's all alone in the world... until Timothy Q Mouse shows up and becomes his best friend and is always encouraging him and accepting him as he yes thats what true friends are meant for unlike people who shun you for your shortcomings but do come running to you when they have some business with you sad but true :)
Coming back to the story of this its simple sweet with awesome animation for a 1941 release much much ahead of its time for sure.
The pink elephants sequence is brilliant. One of the best, most inventive sequences in animation genre of movies must say.
Recommended for all ages and most definitely for kids they will just love every bit of it this has innocence which somehow is lacking in the so called children movies of these days :)
This is one of the endearing movie which can be enjoyed by all :) Watch it :)

Charlottes Web - A Terrific Book And A Terrific Movie

Charlotte's Web - This 1973 animated movie is based on E.B White's book of the same name simple yet brilliant like the books by my favorite author Ruskin Bond, this version of the movie has adapted very well and and has kept the essence of the book alive like the sweet and terrific book itself and keeping it musical makes it all the more entertaining.

The story takes us to world of animals in the barnyard and the way they feel and emote is as good or better than humans who are supposedly the epitome of feelings and emotions and this is the kind of movie which is meant for all and all times and also teaches us to look for joy from the simple things around us which we so easily ignore and I guess thats what keeps us away from happiness the most.

All in all, this is a thoroughly enjoyable film, overflowing with the voices of some of the best talent of its time, some of the best animation and a story that never gets old.Watch it if you still haven't enjoy the simple pleasures of life :)

Playing By Heart - If romance is a mystery, there's only one way to figure it out....Watch more and more romantic movies :)

Playing By Heart - Couple of years back when I was trying to download most of Angelina Jolie's movies I had downloaded this one and somehow picked up today to watch this one and quite enjoyed this one and little did I notice then that the star cast consisted of the likes of Sean Connery,Amanda Peet,Patricia Clarkson,Dennis Quad to name a few.The movie starts with many stories concerning the matters of heart running in parallels and it is towards the end that they all fall together at one place beautifully just loved that bit yes i know i am less critical and more generous with compliments but why not I am yet to make something as entertaining and engrossing and the least I can do is appreciate what keeps me inspiring me everyday of my life and tells me life is beautiful indeed come what may :)

Loved all the stories running parallel to each other each had its own USP to it pleasant, heartwarming and one a bit heartbreaking too but that's what life is all about a mix of all in good quantity to make it more and more viable and beautiful.

I.Q. - With Einstein as Cupid what could possibly go wrong?

I.Q - One of the cutest romantic comedies I have watched and the presence of Meg Ryan gives that extra dash of cuteness I guess.I had downloaded this movie as part of the collection of Meg Ryan's movies never thought it would be this good and interesting being a fan of romantic comedies I can surely this is not the usual romantic comedies that you watch in fact saw glimpses of our Desi 'Chupke Chupke' remember English professor trying to teach Botany so you can imagine a car mechanic trying to be a Physicist it is surely fun to watch loved the character of Albert Einstein played by Late Walter Mathau he is so so adorable makes the Albert Einstein a very interesting person for sure :) And no this is not a chick flick but a good funny heartwarming romantic comedy to watch.

The climax is hilarious something to watch out for sure.

Never judge a book by its cover I wasn't sure when I was downloading this movie but completely enjoyed watching this and surely recommend this one for a pleasant watch...

Fair Game - Political Thriller

Fair Game - This movie based on true incidents which occurred during President Bush's time made by Doug Liman the director who gave us 'The Bourne Identity' , 'Mr and Mrs.Smith' 'Jumper' etc comes up with another fast paced thriller a political one at that and he seems to be an expert about movies about Spies/Under covers and the results surely are an interesting fare to watch.

This one is a gripping story based on the true incidents about the exposure of Valerie Plame , the wife of US senator Joe Wilson , as a CIA undercover agent by the Bush Administration. It shows the mechanism of power and how power can be misused rather abused to the lowest degree for some people's selfish and stupid benefits and I think this is a global phenomenon which is extremely unfortunate but loved the fact the fight they put up against the ruling power and makes it a real fascinating movie to watch.Though this one is a political thriller but let me tell you not once will you the pace slow or too many dialogues happening at the same time must say a very tight and interesting script.

Coming to performances full marks to Naomi Watts and Sean Pean i could feel their disappointment which was so well conveyed by their expressions alone this is what great actors are made of not just strutting in designer clothes and having zero size figures.

Fair Game is a timely reminder of the abuse of governmental power and the lives of innocent people that are caught in the crosswinds. This one is a powerful film that forces us to relive the outrage of those days when government deception was an everyday occurrence.

Final Word - One of the best political movies I have seen of late ...go for it...

Life as We Know It - Sweet Romantic Comedy

Life as We Know It - A movie of genre which is that of a romantic comedy will never ever bore me even if its done to death and I have to watch it everyday such is the affection I have for romantic comedies which is my all time favorite genre, how I just love them it gives such a nice good positive feeling that by the end of it I am ready for more and more of them :)

The story revolves around a girl and a guy whose first date set up by their respective best friends go horribly wrong in every way possible and by the twist of destiny they are stuck to each other for a common purpose thanks to their best friends again and that's where the fun in the story begins it has its hilarious as well as emotional moments as well in equal proportion but yes you know its going to be a happy ending after all and somewhere inside all of us we do love happy endings whatever be the reality and this movie is a complete entertaining and enjoyable one.

Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel who are main the characters do share a great chemistry in this movie and the child star is so so adorable, the whole transformation of two single status individuals is just so beautiful and I loved the fact that one need not be just biological parents to be the best parents in the world.Enjoyed this movie completely.Recommended for sure...

Manhattan - Woody Allen's Masterpiece

Manhattan- The movie is humorous to the core. The best movie i have seen so far from Woody Allen and New York City in Black and white looks just out of the world, the spectacular views of the towers, bridges and waterways of this finest metropolis is really wow.Apart from being a good movie with a fantastic storyline this will remain a homage to the Great New York City.Diane Keaton is fabulous so is Woody Allen.New York is one place I will visit for sure and if possible move there for good my favorite city in the world I must confess.Watch it you won't complain :)

Black Swan - A Complete Masterpiece

Black Swan - This one is a complete masterpiece which is both beautiful and nightmarish at the same time.It emphasizes how aiming for perfection can bring out both the worst and the best in a person and the person himself/herself becomes his/her own best friend and best enemy at the same time. The film's slow points are never dragged out, merely well padded out for the shift from Nina(Natalie Portman) being innocent to adrenaline soaked horror as she descends into the realm of darkness is a complete treat to watch and without a speck of doubt this is Natalie Portman's best performance she is already nominated for Golden Globe for this one won't be surprised if she is nominated at Oscars for the same as well.Despite only appearing for a few minutes, Winona Ryder is amazing in her role wish she had more scenes though.I liked Mila Kunis's performance as well.Yes its a bit disturbing at times but as I told you its both beautiful and nightmarish and isn't that how our lives are..Don't miss this one

No One Killed Jessica - A Gutsy Film which deserves a standing ovation

No One Killed Jessica - A movie maker's responsibility is to entertain and enlighten and Raj Kumar Gupta does a 100% job of this with his second directorial venture -NOKJ after his superb 'Aamir'.If 2010 ended with an awful Hindi movie called 'Tees Maar Khan' let me tell you 2011 has started with a real good Hindi movie on a positive note with a mind blowing movie as this one.We all know what happened to Jessica Lal in 1999 -she lost her life just because she refused to give a drink after the bar was shut and the 300 high profile witnesses just could not muster enough courage to stand up for the truth and that is really shocking.Hats off to NDTV to start a campaign to reopen the case and get the guilty punished and people like Shayan Munshi who were the main witness and who backed out should be punished he is a flop actor and always will remain so it was completely disgusting the way he backed being the main witness. Is one bloody fucking drink more expensive than human's life the answer is seriously no.

Coming back to the movie the director has done complete justice to the spirit of the story which will always remain well etched in our minds in the time to come and though this is based on real incident the director has definitely made an excellent thriller of it instead of going the documentary-drama way.The events have been chronologically put forth and the daring story of two women who challenged the system hits you like a ton of bricks. The film truly celebrates the human spirit and also reflects a vital change in the society and in the attitudes of people, loved the whole bit of nation coming together for Justice be it lighting a candle at the India Gate or be the million smses sent to NDTV it truly became one nation that time.It takes war, cricket and an incident like this for us to emerge as one nation. This is a gutsy movie for sure and deserves a standing ovation. Both Rani and Vidya has author backed roles and has given absolutely high voltage powerhouse performances full marks to them for that and after this Rani we don't want to see you in anymore of Dil Bole Hadippa kind of movies.Kudos to the whole starcast of this everyone has done a Brilliant job they have completely sunk into the character and the number 'Dilli Dilli' completely rocks.

Final word - What are you waiting for go and grab a ticket of this movie ASAP you will regret if you miss out on this one..this gems don't release often these days

Women Power Rocks :)
