Interstellar - A Must Watch

This is the kind of cinema which makes the journey to the theater and sitting in the dark hall for 3 hours so so worth it. This is the magic cinema weaves transporting us to the world the filmmaker has conceived, anything given in the right hands can result into something memorable and undoubtedly the brilliant director Christoper Nolan falls into the category of brilliant hands. I was waiting for the release of this movie for sometime and boy totally worth the wait , worth the money and worth every second of the 180 minutes Never thought a science fiction could get one's eyes moist and it did Despite being visual brilliance this masterpiece does have its heart in the right place and have kept emotional content intact without going overboard on it just enough to make us realize we are ultimately emotional beings Christopher Nolan take a bow , thanks so much for giving us such awesome movies which blows our mind away and the memories stay with us for the rest of our lives Matthew McConaughey - Awesome actor and a dish at that proves his mettle yet again You will only love him and more Anne Hathaway - Like her very much from 'The Princess Diaries' and she has only grown to become a fantastic actress..she is fabulous in the movie Jessica Chastain - Her brilliance was proved in movies like 'The Help' and 'Zero Dark Thirty' and yet again in this movie she proves her caliber. Matt Damon will take you by surprise Rest of the cast comprising of some awesome actors and like Micheal Caine,Casey Afleck,Topher Grace, John Lithgow ,Ellen Burstyn sure add that essential fuel needed for that extra edge. Ah I missed telling the plot right oh well that was intentional Please please don't miss this masterpiece which happens once in a way Find a way to watch this amazing movie totally worth it We always do Recommended of course the best release this weekend undoubtedly Happy Weekend :)

Bang Bang - Avoidable

2010 was the year where I saw the maximum movies in my lifetime yet, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz starer 'Knight And Day' was among the 553 movies that I watched that year and no it wasn't memorable for sure.. So our Bollywood director who has track record of copying Hollywood movies chooses to copy this one, sorry inspired is the word let me remain politically corrected , Just FYI the movies Siddharth Anand has done so far are follows: 1) 2010 release Anjana Anjana - source of inspiration - 2007 release The Bucket List 2) 2008 release Bachna Ae Haseeno - source of inspiration - 2004 release Alfie 3)2007 release Ta Ra Rum Pum - source of inspiration - 1990 release Days of Thunder 4)2005 release Salam Namaste - source of inspiration - 1995 release Nine Months. No nothing wrong in taking inspiration but keeping it entertaining is a must specially when we do not expect any path breaking cinema from your end. Hrithik Roshan - I remember watching many of his earlier films more than once and always thought he had an electrifying screen presence not to forget his good looks and a great body and must admit he is a good actor he definitely has it in him what takes to reach the top,his 2004 release 'Lakshya' till date remains one of my favorite Hindi movie. But due apologies to every Hrithik Roshan fan I really thought this was definitely not one of his best movie,ya he does look wow in few shots but most part of the movie he looks tired and disinterested..disappointing Katrina Kaif - Supremely blessed I tell you 11 years and she is rocking Bollywood , Looks 10/10 Acting Skills 0/10 and Girl you got to learn Hindi the way it is actually spoken not like a Firangi Desi all the time Danny Denzongpa,Pawan Malhotra, Javed Jaffrey ,Jimmy Sheirgill and Deepti Nawal - All these supremely talented actors remain completely wasted...sad The one line that I really thought was awful was as follows, I am not even counting the dialogues the heroin had to deliver they just didn't matter : 'Kohinoor Churaya Hai Kuch To Izzat Karo'..now seriously There is this one song where I thought Hrithik danced effortlessly as he always does...rest of the movie really does not matter. And yes to be fair the movie is shot very nicely. BTW Mr.Director why do you assume your fellow Indians geographical knowledge would be in pits..the last it snowed in Dehradun was in 1952 and then in Jan 2012 but very very small portion not the way you have shown..looked like Dehradun was somewhere in Switzerland I am sure the movie will do very well commercially but honestly I would not recommend this to anyone rest is upto you All these superstars should try and do meaningful movies too and not keep dishing out trash but why blame them, they all know we the audience will lap it up There are enough awesome images available in the internet of Hrithik Roshan, think again if you are planning to watch this movie for eye candy sake Avoidable...but then its a free country the choice is yours

Haider - Brilliant movie

The early 1990s and every time an armed forces personnel getting posted to the most beautiful valley of this country rest assured the family members would be dead scared of his safety but someone's got to do the dirty job I guess and do it right Having said the above no movie ever has or will ever capture the trauma of Kashmir ..the answers will always remain unanswered..ask the child who has lost his dad ,the mother who has lost his son, the wife who has lost his husband, the sister who has lost his brother, the friend who has lost his/her BFF forever... The trauma of the many Kashmiri families where many of their family members have disappeared never to be found again...thats something we will see as onlookers will feel bad but can never really understand. After his earlier films MAQBOOL and OMKARA, Vishal Bhardwaj brings to us yet another Shakespearean treat in the form of of this movie, which is an Indian adaptation of Shakespeare's HAMLET. Hamlet, is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare .Set in the Kingdom of Denmark, the play dramatizes the revenge Prince Hamlet is instructed to enact on his uncle Claudius. Claudius had murdered his own brother, Hamlet's father King Hamlet, and subsequently seized the throne, marrying his deceased brother's widow, Hamlet's mother Gertrude. Hamlet is Shakespeare's longest play and among the most powerful and influential tragedies in English literature so the movie is a 2 hr 41 mts movie..chopping it off would be at the risk of playing with the essence of the subject. This movie stars some of the superlative talents of the country in the form of Shahid Kapoor, Tabu, Kay Kay Menon, Irrfan Khan, Shraddha Kapoor so the reasons for having high expectations from this movie is but obvious and it does not disappoint on that front not a bit, brilliant performances by all the actors I loved the first half of the movie, its totally engrossing and gives one goosebumps , the second half is also great but just for few minutes it had lost its fizz a bit and just a bit otherwise engrossing... it doesn't let you leave the world of Haider. Haider belongs to Shahid Kapur he is simply superb..just shows with the right director the acting skills does get honed up. Loved Shahid's explanation of the term 'chutzpah' to everyone Shraddha Kapoor is loveable in her part as the innocent girl who is madly in love with Haider. Narendra Jha, who plays Shahid's father, doesn't have many scenes in the film, but the few scenes that he has will haunt you till the end of the movie. Kay Kay Menon, as the evil mind uncle is nothing less than brilliant and he always is I think Tabu, as Ghazala was mind blowing really sad Bollywood does not give the right opportunities to this awesome actress..sheer pleasure watching her...another reason I have been waiting to watch this movie. The rest of the actors (Kulbhushan Kharbanda after a long time on screen, Aashish Vidyarthi, Aamir Bashir and others are quite good as well. My facebook friend costume designer and brilliant actress herself Dolly Ahluwalia Tewari has given some awesome costumes which captures the Kashmiri sense of dressing so beautifully..full marks to her for that. The movie is beautifully shot as expected This may not be an entertaining movie but a movie which will make you ponder and maybe you will thank again about the current situation of your life. I loved the movie and surely recommend and yes not meant for kids May the good movies always win over the bad ones and thats only possible when we the audience chose well :)

If I Stay - Beautiful Story

Based on the novel by same name from Gayle Forman, the movie beautifully depicts the message 'Life happens while we are all busy making our plans and how. Wish one could take the life or death decision the way its shown in the movie , life would have been far more painful for sure. Every choice in life comes with its share of consequences and enjoying every bit of it is the best way to enjoy the journey of life :) This movie has a little bit of everything,it makes you smile, it has great music, a strong story, great acting and lot of emotions. Chloe Grace Moretz is a budding actress, someone to watch out for. One sweet movie and glad I ended this weekend on this sweet a note :)

Finding Fanny - Fun movie ...totally worth it

Quirky yes mad yes but total fun movie enjoyed the ride completely , sorry to sound like a complete sadist but i thought the death scenes were the funniest :) am still thinking about them and laughing :) Homi Adjania well done who wants to see a run of the mill Hindi movie week after week, its great to see off beat entertaining movies coming from Bollywood. The movie had all the factors which are closest to my heart like Goa(my favorite place in the world , can go there every year and never ever get bored of it :) ),an interesting road trip, a fun story which does not follow the beaten track and gives you many reasons to laugh and smile :) Great job of casting to get a bunch of fabulous actors and everyone pitching in their best ..sheer brilliance. Deepika Padukone - She is the best we have in the new generation of actresses in Bollywood ..sans glamour she still looks drop dead gorgeous and a complete natural when it comes to performance Naseeruddin Shah - Even the best of positive adjectives runs short for him...Bollywood is blessed to have him really.. Pankaj Kapur - Brilliant actor ..sad Bollywood does not utilize this awesome actor.... Dimple Kapadia - No other actress could have done a better job of Rosie Eucharistica..simply superb I thought even the actor Anand Tiwari was real cute as Father Francis :) I so badly want to go Goa right now :) I am not letting the story out lest I get the cat out of the bag and spoil the magic :) Its a journey of life which is meant to be enjoyed with its share of ups and downs :) Of course recommended :) The best release this weekend :) I am planning to watch the English version as well and take this fun ride again :)

Daawat-e-Ishq - Delicious :)

As much as dishy and romantic comedy type it sounds the movie actually has a socially relevant message of extreme importance to the Indian Society, the social evil called dowry which not only results dowry deaths but also death of many girl children during their birth itself. The movie tackling this heavy a subject is still on the lighter note and leaves a smile behind The world of Gulrez Gullu Qadir (Parineeti Chopra) and Taariq Haider (Aditya Roy Kapur) was fun to watch and yes Anupam Kher yet again delivers a great performance. And the display of awesome food can actually get you hungry Aditya Roy Kapur is superb but this movie primarily belongs to the natural effortless performer Parineeti Chopra I quite enjoyed it and lovely company of my good friends made it all the more fun :)

A Walk Among the Tombstones - One Captivating Thriller

Based on the novel by Lawrence Block this is one superb mystery. Liam Neeson has become an expert in doing these kind of roles like but no complain ,quite like him this way or anyway for that matter :) The movie is not over the top,and the bleak, somber, usually rainy setting establishes the tone that fits with the essence of the movie very well. Parts of the movie was a bit too gore for my taste but that I guess was the essential part of the story. If mystery thrillers are your favorite genre then definitely watch it :)

Dolphin Tale 2 - Superb one...loved it

Awesome movie to end the weekend with, the fantastic work done by Clearwater Marine Aquarium is showcased in the best possible way..loved it. Clearwater Marine Aquarium(CMA) is fundamentally a hospital for sick and injured marine life based in Tampa, Florida,USA, they rescue, rehabilitate, and release ALL animals that they can back to where they actually belong. They (CMA)educate young people on the preservation and conservation of animals and environment. Yes I was extremely impressed by the work they do as I have witnessed something like this in Sea Life Sydney Aquarium few years back, they really take care of the sea animals and how Coming back to the movie , the true story of Dolphin - Winter is indeed inspiring, loved the display the emotions in a beautiful subtle way .. I am sure animals have emotions and are far more genuine than us fake, insecure, jealous human beings. Directed by Charles Martin Smith and sequel to his 2011 film Dolphin Tale this movie is bound to leave you with loads of hope, faith and love and all good ingredients of life , a real good heartwarming movie. Loved the performances by all the actors - Morgan Freeman,Ashley Judd,Nathan Gamble,Harry Connick Junior,Cozi Zuehlsdorff, Recommended for sure :)

Kick - Awful

Na dil mein aya na dimaag mein but then that's a Salman Khan movie for you :) I am still wondering how Sallu transformed from a thief to a police inspector within a day :) Jacqueline Fernandez one word pathetic :) Please spare the audience :) Only Salman Khan can carry all this nonsense with such Elan :) The one guy whom i really liked in the movie was Randeep Hooda :) Rest of them are not worth mentioning not even Nawazuddin Siddiqui :) Must admit one thing the movie was shot well and some action sequences. The music is awful , wouldn't want to hear it ever again. I don't think there was ever a script for this movie :) Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala decided they want to holiday in Poland so lets just something together and in anyways it will be a hit :) My friend's sweet mother in law so adorably said post watching the movie ' at least 50 lakh ke gadiyon ka udaya aur kitne bhayankar stunts the' that was something dil aur dimaag dono mein chaya :) Having said all the above must say this was much better than Dhoom 3 ,there were some scenes you would laugh specially if you are watching with your friends :) It will take a long time now to see another mindless movie :) Eid Mubarak :) Eidi in terms of 100 crores from Box Office to Salman leke jayega and hum sab usmein contribute karenge ;) One of my friend very correctly said ' People who didn't like the movie are Human Beings & those who liked it are Being Humans :)

Hercules - Interesting take on Hercules

Entertaining action packed drama with some decent acting so no complains and to make things better the length of the movie is short as well :) If action is your genre don't miss this one and yes Dwayne The Rock Johnson totally rocks this one :)

Lucy - Superb Thriller

90 minutes so well invested in a brilliant movie. Science fiction has never been my favorite movie genre but this one blew my mind away, loved it ..splendid I tell you. Scarlett Johanson's one of her best movie till date for sure and I can confidently say she does full justice to the title of the movie as the movie belongs to her. Morgan Freeman excelled in the brief role he had. Korean actor Min-sik Choi did a great job as the super mean guy. Another actor to watch out for would be Amr Waked Excellent movie from director Luc Besson Recommended for sure

The Hundred-Foot Journey - A beautiful culinary journey :)

This movie should be a must watch in everybody's list given the feel good factors. Loved the movie a superb way to start the week I say :) Om Puri is superb but the actress that stood was Helen Mirren she is just brilliant. Thought Manish Dayal was cute so was Charlotte Le Bon(has a striking resemblance to Winona Ryder ) and they made a real sweet pair. The rest of the cast was great too, each one of them played their role to the perfection. If the Kadam family rocked so did Madame Mallory. Loved the display of food, the ingredients, the colors, the beautiful French town, Director Lasse Hallström got it just right. Sometimes the simplest things in life can give you the biggest of joys :) Recommended..the best release this week for sure :)

Guardians of the Galaxy - Good Fun movie with great special effects :)

All I was expecting was some brilliant special effects but the decent storyline and good performances took me by surprise so overall exceeded my expectations. This is one of the most offbeat superhero movie I have seen, enjoyed it thoroughly. Fun movie ..recommended :)

Singham Returns - Entertaining

For days follow a healthy diet full of all the right nutrients which is nourishment for body and mind ,and one day you cheat on the diet and cheat really well which will actually allover refresh your mind, body and soul :) Enjoyed the movie to the hilt, truly deserves to be in the 100 crore plus club and above. Rohit Shetty surely knows how to entertain, this one is much better than Chennai Express and his Golmaal Series. Ajay Devgan is the Singham and boy does he return, he is a good actor and does his job very well. Kareena Kapoor's presence or no presence didn't matter much :) Loved the rest of the cast , everyone did a good job. Loved the action scenes, kuch logon ko sach mein aise patakh patakh ke marna chahiye :) Paisa vasool bole to khaali samay ka sahi upyog :) Enjoyed the seethiyan marnewale dialogues :) Recommended for sure :)

Mardaani - A must watch..loved it

When I heard the name of the movie and saw the trailer the first thing that flashed in my mind were the following lines of a Hindi poem by Subhadra Kumari Chauhan which I studied in my 5th Standard(CBSE): । For people who don't understand Hindi here is the English translation of the above lines: The throne got shook, and the tension erupted among the Raajvanshs, the royal heirs of the throne, In aged India, a new wave of youth was spreading, All the inhabitants of India had realized the worth of their lost freedom, All of them had decided to get rid of the Foreign rule, The old swords started glittering again like new ones in the form of the freedom movement in 1857. From the mouths of the Bandelas and the Harbolas (Religious singers of Bandelkhand), we heard the tale of the courage of the Queen of Jhansi relating how gallantly she fought like a man against the British intruders: such was the Queen of Jhansi. And the lines so aptly applies to the current condition of women of this country ..yes all of us need to keep the 'Jhansi Ki Raani' spirit intact among us. Director Pradeep Sarkar who earlier gave us the classic Parineeta and Lafange Parindey has taken a diversion from the glam and glitz of Bollywood to a dark reality of human trafficking. Even with the share of its cinematic liberties the movie keeps you on the edge from the beginning to the end and for once never fails to grab your attention. There are moments that might make your eyes moist and loads to ponder about and loads of moments for a thundering applause for the awesome performance by the Brilliant actress Rani Mukherjee. Rani Mukherjee as the tough talking cop is sheer brilliance to watch , please can we not have lines such as following from the awful set of Indian audience for this superb actress: Ye to ab buddhi ho gayi ise movie mein acting band kar dena chahiye ..sick people Rani Mukherji gave the character the much-needed intensity, strength and dignity Tahir Raj Bhasin who plays the role of the main villain leaves a very impressive mark. Jisshu Sengupta even with his limited given scope does a decent job of a great supportive husband. The movie is quite powerful and quite relevant to the given situation of our country. So while all of us are having fun dressing up, posing for selfies, having a ball basically let's never ever let the 'Jhansi Ki Rani' spirit die among us. Morale of the story - Never think twice to beat up an awful man actually beat him up black and blue and break his bones and then also if he still misbehaves you know exactly which part of his body needs to be cut into pieces and burnt for good :) Have A Blessed Week Ahead And Lets Get Together To Make Our Country -'No Country For Awful Sick Men' :) Recommended..Don't Miss it :)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Enjoyable

If you have grown up reading about these characters then surely you would find this one interesting and quite a fun movie to watch actually. Enjoyable and interesting

Buno Haansh (English: Wild Goose) - - Great Thriller

Glad I decided to watch this movie. This thriller based on the novel by Samaresh Majumdar of the same name, comes from director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury who has given us some thought provoking good Bengali movies with great stories :Aparajita TUMI - 2012 release Antaheen - 2009 release Anuranan - 2006 release Great story with great performances from Dev, Srabanti Chatterjee , Tanusree Chakraborty , Sudipta Chakraborty ,Sohag Sen. The situation one falls into and the traps life sets , this is one tale to watch out for. The good thing about Bengali movies releasing in Bangalore it comes with English subtitles :) Recommended :)

Life Of Crime - A must watch for the fans of Jennifer Anistom

Based on 'The Switch', a novel by the late Elmore Leonard this crime comedy will keep your interest alive in those 98 minutes. Its not extra ordinary but an entertaining one for sure. Jennifer Aniston was real good and the backbone of this movie. The end is bound to shock you and leaves a smile behind. The best movie for this weekend is going to be undoubtedly 'Mary Kom' but if you are a Jennifer Aniston fan then you must watch this one. Recommended.

Mary Kom - A Must Watch

After weeks and weeks of pathetic Hindi movies here comes a Hindi movie which reaffirms one's faith in the few good filmmakers left in Bollywood and if it comes from a first time director all the more good. The movie is based on life of Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom also known as MC Mary Kom, Magnificent Mary or simply Mary Kom and someone I am sure will get the Gold medal in next Olympics. Films on sports personalities in Bollywood are between far and few with CHAK DE INDIA and more recently BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG winning the audience's heart and now Mary Kom. Chak De India will remain my favorite and the next would be Mary Kom for sure. The story of Mary Kom is bound to inspire you and suddenly you will have a very different perspective of the shortcomings of life. Despite of all the hardships present in her life nothing could stop Mary Kom in putting our country on the international map with her achievements. A fighter never gives up and thats the spirit of Mary Kom which is portrayed close to perfection by Priyanka Chopra. and we cannot see her in Zanjeer remake kind of movies anymore Priyanka Chopra steals the show. She does total justice to this author backed role full marks to her for that Every Girl should get a husband like K Onler Kom , the husband's role played by Darshan Kumar is simply superb,he holds his ground firm, despite Priyanka's towering performance..sad Bollywood does not give such good actors enough opportunities, sincerely hope to see more of him. Sunil Thapa as the coach is outstanding, loved the way he portrays his emotional, professional and rational sides with equal ease, this is what the best coaches are made of I guess The rest of the cast is excellent and really hope to seem them more. Between Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Mary Kom I would most definitely give Mary Kom more marks for sticking to the original incidents as much as possible. And the beautiful Manipur is very much part of our country and we should remain proud of it always I have met some of the nicest and most hardworking people specially women in my life from here Dinah Aliishi Ngade Achui Muivah Mia Awungshi Biak Lun love you all Standing up for our National Anthem did give the goosebumps Liked the background score very much composed by Rohit Kulkarni Of course recommended ..not to be missed ..go for it The best release this weekend for sure :)

If I Stay - Sweet little movie

Begin Again - Superb musical

I am so glad I closed the weekend with this wonderful feel good movie which had some fantastic music and that would surely keep your mood upbeat and you would leave the theater with a smile and a heart filled with joy. Save the best one for the last surely did work for my movie watching pattern this weekend :) All the actors were outstanding - Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo,Katherine Keener,Hailee Steinfeld and every actor. Loved the music, sure to download the tracks. Recommended surely...loved the title 'Begin Again' an epitome of hope Have a great week ahead :)

Bangalore Days - A Whiff Of Fresh Air

Just the right movie in this awesome weather of Bangalore ... The initial incidents of the movie did bring back the memories when 24 years back we were posted in Bangalore from a remote corner of UP , the excitement that followed :) Still remember the 27th June of 1990 stepping out of the train in Bangalore Cantonment station in the beautiful weather chilled weather of Bangalore ..sheer bliss And can’t think of moving anywhere else in India :) The movie shows all my favorite places in Bangalore , I was completely immersed in the movie , not a moment of boredom in those 172 minutes. A story of hope, love, faith and everything nice :) All the actors in this movie are natural and a pleasure to watch. The actors who stood out were - Dulquar Salman( son of Mammotty), Nazriya Nazim, Fahadh Faasil, Nivin Pauly, Parvathi. Great movie by Director Anjali Menon. This movie is released in more than 200 screens across India with English subtitles so please don’t miss it. How I wish more and more such super movies of regional language release with English subtitles and none of us will be deprived of good cinema and yes will save us from watching lousy bollywood movies well most of them are lousy even out of boredom. The movie has been running in Bangalore for sometime so book your tickets before it stops screening. Recommended ..the best movie this week for sure. Saritha Radhakrishnan thanks so much for the awesome recommendation..loved the movie :)

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania - timepass if you think so :)

First few observations : - Alia Bhatt must have signed this movie before Highway and 2 States released - Karan Johar didn't have much faith in the new director that's why no foreign locale shootings and neither high end designer clothes or accessories were used, he did give him a shoe string budget to work on to prove his worth, and having seen the movie not sure if Karan will place faith again in him - Time pass movies should have good music I mean at least feet tapping even that was missing. It had all the makings of a time pass movie but they missed it.. Varun Dhawan was ok...Alia Bhatt was shrieking not one of her best performance for sure. The only guy i really liked was the Tele Star Siddharth Shukla of Balika Vadhu's fame and yes Ashutosh Rana too But when you have a good companyKakoli Roy and your giggling away throughout those 2 hr plus which otherwise would have been boring then you don't mind for sure If you go with friends and have intention of chatting up while watching the movie then this is the one for you.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - Innovative..great concept

There were humans and then there were Apes and then there were more Apes ,Apes talking like humans, Apes riding in horses, I think the movie had less humans Very innovative in terms of the concept and making of the movie. Loved the emotional connect between the Apes and the humans..something to watch out for. Today's highlight was meeting Milind Soman and yes the Tea Tasting session at Infinitea Bangalore :)

Taxi Driver - Awesome

One superb movie of Robert DeNiro ... this cult movie is a must must watch for every good movie lover...Grab the DVD like now :) Hindi version of this one 'Sadaak' is not even remotely any good compared to this brilliant movie... A superb end to Wednesday :) Glad this is my 100th movie of 2014 :)

Transformers: Age of Extinction - worth a watch for sure

If you have liked the Transformer series you are bound to like this one. The positive bit - the superb special effects , the awesome optimus and its transforming capabilities, the brilliant action sequences, the super hot Mark Wahlberg :) The negative bit - Wish it was a bit short. If you have been following the Transformer series then don't miss it even otherwise if you are an action movie buff then suggest you watch it. Happy Weekend :)

Ek Villain - awful :)

Not sure why but this funny line came to my mind when i saw this movie ' Jo apne biwi se kare pyar woh baaki sab ke biwion ka karen anteem sanskar' I know its crazy so was the movie hahaha :) Agreed everyone has got roles which they have never done before and guess what the audience are the guinea pigs to run this test :) Shraddha Kapoor is at her irritating best the moment she tries to deliver any line otherwise she is a pretty girl ;) Looks like prerequisite of a Hindi movie heroine is to have a good body and overall look good that's it noone cares most of the time if she really knows how to act :) Everything about this movie sucks including the so called good music. Sidhharth Malhotra looks great and he is decent so is Ritesh Deshmukh in his villainous avatar. Prachi Desai does she need to a sleazy item number now to keep herself going in Bollywood..pathetic Way too violent for my taste. The only good part about watching this one was that I was catching up with a good friend and we did a movie watching together after a long time and we had loads to laugh about :) Of course highly avoidable :)

Bobby Jasoos - A must watch for Vidya Balan's awesome performance :)

A light breezy movie with fun quotient intact and Vidya Balan the superb actress's awesome performance makes this one totally worth a watch and yes its worth the money and the time which does not go beyond two hours thankfully. But looking at the current trend of commercially hit Hindi movies like the awful 'Humshakal','Ek Villain' not sure if this one reach that stature but glad Debutant director Samar Shaikh came up with something different and interesting and not an awful potboiler Hindi movie. Vidya Balan was simply superb, she might not have the perfect body but her acting skills are far more superior actually no comparison than any of these wannabe actress we have in Bollywood these days, liked her very much in this one compared to her last two releases - Shaadi ke side effects and Ghanchakkar. She is a natural, sheer brilliance in the screen. The director did a great job of getting some brilliant actors together under one roof - Supriya Pathak,Rajendra Gupta,Tanvi Tazmi these are real actors. Loved the chemistry between Vidya Balan and Ali Fazal unassuming yet sweet. I liked the movie very much and enjoyed the night show very much - thanks to my kind friend for booking the tickets and dropping me back home A pleasant movie to watch during the weekend Recommended for sure And this movie has its heart at the right place A good one from Bollywood

The Fault in Our Stars - A Beautiful Romantic Movie :)

Based on the bestseller of the same name this movie is bound to touch your heart and will make you realize for that beautiful rainbow in our lives one has to go through its share of rain When I read the synopsis of the book I had thought the movie would be a bit morbid but glad all my thoughts were put to rest as the movie turned out to be quite a gem, focusing on the brighter side of life. I loved Director Josh Boone’s earlier movie 2012 released ‘Stuck In Love’ and liked this one too very much, he really knows how to touch the right cords. Loved the innocence of the main characters Guz and Hazel , all the actors have done a fabulous job specially Laura Dern and Willam Defoe. Dealing with one of the most dreadful disease is not easy and what I loved was there was no part which asks for sympathy from the audience but only encouragement and kindness. I loved the movie, the characters were real to life… Recommended for sure..don't miss this gem of a movie :)

How to Train Your Dragon 2 - One of the best animated movie..a must watch for all ages

One of the best animated movies I have seen ..brilliant animation and a good story and some fantastic voice overs and the sequel supersedes and in an awesome way Superb 3D Effects loved the experience A must watch this weekend for the entire family

Grace of Monaco - A Decent watch specially for Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman is one of my favorite but in the past 2 - 3 years her movies didn't excite me as much but for her superlative performance in this one and 'The Railway Man' and she reinforced the feeling the reason she is liked about apart from her gorgeous looks. She fitted the role of Grace Kelly gracefully I must admit. Her identity crisis post marriage depicted very well which I am sure many women could identify with even in today's time. The clothes, the jewellery is sheer visual delight and they represent timeless icon of style. Tim Roth as Prince Raiheer III is quite impressive and other notable performances comes from Paz Vega,Parker Posey and Frank Langella. I personally quite liked it and if true life drama interests you then I suggest you watch this one :)

Chef - An awesome dish not to be missed :)

One gem of a movie by Jon Favreau who directs and stars as Carl Casper, a celebrated chef at a swanky Los Angeles restaurant and then his beautiful journey onto becoming an amazing entrepreneur and running his own food truck and dishing out some awesome food, and yes there is an awesome display of superb food in this movie which can actually make you go hungry :) Jon Favreau have earlier given us Iron Man And Iron Man 2 which is action packed and full of brilliant super effects so this one coming from him is a pleasant pleasant surprise and an entertaining one at that. The movie has some awesome Latino music going on in the background which makes the ongoing quite feet tapping too Robert Downey Jr is there in once scene and was it good trust me it was real good he steals the show, surely will make you ask for more All the actors did a great job but the one's to stand out were Sofia Vegara, John Leguizamo...Dustin Hoffman was good in the brief role so was Scarlett Johanson. Loved the flavor of positivity in the movie which makes you hopeful about life :) Chef leaves you surely with a great satisfied feeling like the way you would feel post eating a great meal with all the healthy ingredients mixed in it which will only enrich your life Undoubtedly the best release this weekend Don't Miss It Please do not waste you money on Humshakals I am not even going to bother to watch it ever :)

Apur Panchali - Poignant..loved it

This poignant movie is a real life story inspired by Subir Banerjee, the little child actor who played the iconic role of Apu in Satyajit ray's unforgettable Pather Panchali. I am a huge fan of Satyajit Ray's work and the subject being focused on the iconic child star only made it more interesting. This is pure cinematic brilliance directed by Kaushik Ganguly...I was totally mesmerized not a moment of distraction the story has what is called depth which is rare element to find in cinemas these days. An awesome movie devoid of violence, unnecessary songs, unnecessary titillation, a pure gem which stands out in the trashy movies we get these days. Loved the way the parallel created between the real life of a man and the resemblance with the trilogy scene by scene is commendable Parambrata Chatterjee is simply superb the pain the anger the dilemma the happiness so so well expressed. Ardhendu Banerjee .. I was watching his movie for the first time and i am mighty impressed, he is fantastic. Parno Mitra is like a fresh whiff of air very innocent and sweet ..loved the scenes between her and Parambrata. Another actor to watch out for is Gaurav Chakrabarty. A gem of a movie not to be missed..recommended BTW the movie should definitely not be viewed by people falling under following category: People who go to movies just for sheer entertainment, or are not emotional and do not like the pace of the movie to be slowed down, prefer receiving calls in the hall please avoid and spare the others who want to enjoy the depth of this beautiful poignant movie ...

X-Men: Days of Future Past - Superb is the word

X-Men is one of the series which people across the globe eagerly wait and why not with the content and special effects this powerful. What would you do if you were to go back in your past and change something so drastically that it could actually change the current situation of your life ? Sounds interesting right so is the storyline of the movie. Superb Special Effects , well chiseled Hugh Jackman :), good performances by the whole cast, of course the ones that stood out were Hugh Jackman,Jennifer Lawrence,James McAvoy ,Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult. The action sequences are out of the world totally jaw dropping kinds :) Enjoyed it every bit..recommended .. the best release this weekend ..go for it :)

Maleficent - A Must Watch

Disney's concept of fairytale ending is changing and for better and I am loving it Glad the tags of true love and soul mate are not connected to any man anymore Loved this version of the much loved 'Sleeping Beauty' in tandem with the modern times for the girls of today. This is director Robert Stromberg's debut movie and very very impressive one at that and his expertise in visual effects is but obvious. Loved the story to the bits and the awesome performances by the actors. Angelina Jolie is back with a bang ..noone else could portray the role of Maleficent better thank be it the kindness or the ruthless her eyes said it all Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora is superb a good actress in making.. I was totally immersed in the magical world with its highs and lows ..recommended for a subject this well covered..and superb visual effects and superlative acting. Don't miss it

Hawaa Hawaaii - Gem of a movie :)

One gem of a movie which is not to be missed , rarely comes a Hindi movie which is so well made and catering to the children's group. A movie which is bound to touch your heart. A movie about ordinary people whom we interact in our daily lives but never really think about them. A beautiful story of willpower and determination and never give up attitude just being yourself and feeling great about it . Loved the movie and felt so good that directors like Amol Gupte are part of the Indian Film Industry. Its about the triumph of the human spirit in the wake of adversities. It makes you realize that those who dream have the power to move mountains. Yes it has its share of cinematic liberties but something you wouldn't mind at all. The story of Arjun Harishchandra Waghmare aka Raju [Partho Gupte] is bound to motivate you and will leave you pondering you about things which you otherwise probably won't think. The movie belongs to Partho Gupte, who astounds you [yet again - remember him in 2011 release 'Stanley Ka Dabba'] with a smashing performance. He's the soul of the film, no two opinions on that. Saqib Saleem shines in the movie as well specially post interval. There has to be a special mention of the four kids who help Partho attain his dream -- Bhura [portrayed by Salman Chhote Khan], Gochi [Ashfaque Khan], Abdul [Maaman Memon] and Bindaas Murugan [Tirupathi Krishnapelli]. Each of them get their act spot on. Anuj Sachdeva [as Saqib's brother] is first-rate and he is soooo goodlooking just couldn't take my eyes from him. Neha Joshi [as Partho's mother] is a talent to watch out for. She is superb. Makarand Deshpande, Divya Jagdale, Sanjay Dadich and Razzak Khan leave a mark in their respective roles. Please please do not miss this gem of a movie ..you will really miss a good hindi movie which is a rare commodity these days. Take your kids along they will come out learning something good in life and so will you Recommended :)

Million Dollar Arm - Not to be missed :)

Superb movie not to be missed :)

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Entertaining..worth the money

Spider - Man always brings back good old memories of school days when sunday 5 pm was blocked for it post finishing home work etc.. :) Larger than life of course ,entertaining of course of to the hilt with decent amount of emotion thrown in :) And yes the sequel to the 2012 release is definitely better than its predecessor. The special effects are indeed amazing hence goes with the title of the movie really well, it definitely transports you into another make believe world altogether and beckons you to stay there and you wouldn't mind that :) Somehow I find Andrew Garfield as the Spidey really cool , there is something extremely cute about him specially the unabashed boyish charm and he did quite a good job must admit. Emma Stone as Spidey's strong girlfriend/pillar of strength is superb. Unfortunately Dane DeHaan is not half menacing as Harry Osborn unlike his super awesome predecessor doing the same role in earlier Spiderman series. It was good to see Jamie Foxx in a completely different Avatar.. Sally Field as Aunt May is superb I guess Sally is an actress who will never disappoint you whichever role she chooses to do :) Overall I enjoyed the movie thoroughly and watching this kinda movie with my good friends just added little more joy to it :) Undoubtedly the best release this weekend..don't miss it Recommended for all age groups :)

2 States - Two worlds, two cultures, two families, one love story..a must watch :)

2 States - Two worlds, two cultures, two families, one love story....this movie re-defines and rejuvenates the love marriage space and makes it a complete fun ride for those 2 hr 29 mts ..no regrets only joy Simple yet striking and somewhere left me thinking what happens to the adorable couple post marriage so all in all a well made movie which is totally worth your money and the cinematic liberties taken are completely tolerable and quite fun at that 2 STATES is based on Chetan Bhagat's bestseller '2 States: The Story Of My Marriage', like the the book 2 States was fun and time pass read if I may say so the movie too falls under the same category and does not fail one bit to keep you entertained Its sheer delight to see all the characters of this movie, so real that they need not shout to be heard but well immersed in their world to be accepted as they are. Director Abhishek Varman remains as faithful as possible to this bestseller from Chetan Bhagat , adapting it delightfully on the big screen. Loved the way the diverse cultures, the discomfort and the pressures when people talk of inter-caste liaison, the neverending love and the resolve to win the parents' trust... each and every aspect -- the emotions included -- are captured to the perfection by the storyteller. Abhishek also somewhere pushes us into the mindset of the two families, highlighting the doubts and fear that arises in such a scenario, yet he makes sure he doesn't belittle or demean any community in the process and kudos to him for that. India is a diverse country each region with its own values and ways of life ,yes its not easy to accept that peacefully but sometimes love and adjustment conquers it all Alia Bhatt is superb another fantastic performance post 'Highway',her eyes and expressions do the talking and so beautifully at that. Arjun Kapoor steals the show for sure with an effortless, charming and convincing portrayal of 'Krish Malhotra'..I always thought he was a good actor from day 1 but this was his best undoubtedly till date. The supporting cast was as good as the main leads. Ronit Roy sparkles in the role of the restrained father, the scenes between him and Arjun Kapoor are some of the high points of this movie. Revathy is excellent so so loved her performance and so was Amrita Singh. Shiv Subramanyam enacting the role of Alia Bhatt's character's father just hits the right chord and very very likeable. Liked the presence of Achint Kaur brief yet vital. 2 STATES is surely a fun movie and I strongly recommend the same. After 'Queen' this is another good release of 2014 from Bollywood. Undoubtedly the best release this weekend Don't miss a good wholesome entertaining movie specially coming from Bollywood as its a rare thing to happen these days so lap it up when you get an opportunity. Recommended I say :)

Main Tera Hero - Highly Avoidable

Some trailers just give it all and this one definitely gave me the signal not to ever ever step into the theater and waste precious time and hard earned money on this one and I am glad I listened to my inner voice :) Even pathetic is an understatement for this super loser movie :) Varun Dhawan has tried his level best to ape Govinda and has failed miserably the only respite is he definitely looks better than the former but acting skills highly questionable.Guys like him and Jacky Jackky Bhagnani are surviving in the film industry we all know why Ileana Dcruz can't believe she was the same one in Barfi and she looks dead throughout the movie.. Nargis Fakhri wonder what compelled her to do this movie - some new high end designer shoes, bag and clothes ;) The otherwise not bad Arunoday Singh comes across like a complete retard throughout the movie :) Not sure either what made Anupam Kher,Saurah Shukla to take up this one David Dhawan at his worst Anyways don't bother highly avoidable and if u must free download is the answer :)

Rio 2 - A riot of colors and extremely fun one at that :)

After a crazy day of argument with bunch of fanatics a good movie was surely the order of the day and I glad I decided to attend the paid preview of this lovely movie :) The screen was mesmerized with a riot of colors and the one which stood out was Blue and loads of it and no I am not complaining as I totally totally loved it :) Blu,Jewel,Gabi,Jewel loved them all BTW these are the names of the endearing characters. The sequel to 2011 released Rio is as good or better and only makes you to ask for more, I wouldn't mind a part 3 of this one :) Loved seeing bright and beautiful Rio de Janeiro and the amazing Amazon..the quality of animation at its best..you just can't take your eyes off even for a second. I would label this one as the best animated movie of 2014 and highly recommend it for all ages. Don't miss it you will miss a good one :)

Noah - Fell short of expectations

Having read about this since the schooling days, went to watch a visual splendor but was mighty disappointed in that aspect. The movie instead of focusing on the visuals has focused more on conversations like a text book. When the pick up a subject as Noah for a movie I think they should focus more on the visuals and all the more since they made it in 3D. So you put on the irritating 3D glasses for a good 138 minutes only to hear non stop conversations which otherwise we have read it in a book. I was disappointed to the core ..and yes neither Jennifer Connely or Russell Crowe's best movie for sure.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

If you like super hero movies then this is the one for you ..its one fast paced movie with awesome action scenes and brilliant visuals. The movie is an awesome work of fiction which will take you away from reality to the world of superheroes where the good always wins over the evil. The gadgets shown in the movie are something to look out for but then its Hollywood and they have the knack of showing the best of gadgets when it comes to these kind of movies be it superhero or science fiction or fantasy. Chris Evans looks so good always liked him..even in 2007 release 'The Nanny Diaries' I thought he was really cute. Scarlett Johansson is as good as always..its a pleasure watching her on the screen. BTW loved the shield of Captain America's ..wish I had one such shield with all its powers :) Overall I thought the movie was rocking and would surely recommend this one to everyone who loves superhero movies.

Gulaab Gang - Worth A Watch for Mads and the entire brilliant cast not Juhi Chawla's best though :)

The presence of Madhuri Dixit - Nene and Juhi Chawla and to add that a women oriented subject was good enough to watch this one. The mixed reviews could not held me back from watching this one and somehow I am glad I did and I did like the movie with its share of flaws. As most you must be aware this movie is loosely based on the real Gulaabi Gang from Bundelkhand as much as director Soumik Sen says its a work of fiction but the inspiration cannot be denied and absolutely nothing wrong with that. The prime focus of this movie is a group of women who takes up varied issues -- domestic violence, dowry, rape, electricity, education, etc. ..no wait the movie actually is about Rajjo - Madhuri Dixit - Nene and watching her emoting, fighting, singing is nothing less of a great experience and full marks to the director to utilize the true potential of this superb actress. I am sorry Juhi Chawla fans which includes me as well - she was good but Mads was Mads class apart and not sure why every time Juhi came in screen she came across more comical than conniving and shrewd and yes she reminded me of the unhealthy Kurkure ads almost all the time :) I wish the movie had dealt with the issues of violence against women in a much more substantial manner , it seemed a bit shallow , rather than having songs they should have invested that time in those issues a bit more. Yes the amount of problems we have in the villages/town/cities of our country , we definitely Gulaab Gang big time just not for the atrocities towards women but for common people..life just isn't fair,.while one thinks which car/bike/dress/bag/shoe to buy next there are many who are thinking how and where will they get their next meal. Next time when we crib that our cities are getting crowded because so many people from small towns and villages are coming we should know its the need of a better life that uproots them from their place and gets them to big concrete jungle..and everyone of us have the right to make our life better right.. Its not a path breaking cinema but definitely a story which will make you ponder and remind you to be thankful about all the beautiful things/relationships/friends that you are bestowed with in this lifetime. Madhuri Dixit you rock and noone ever can take your place :) Come on Indian Film Industry/Bollywood lets see more of her I am sure her best is yet to come :) All the performances are absolutely great as well and topping the list is Divya Jagdale, , Priyanka Bose and Tannishtha Chatterjee . Even with its share of flaws I would recommend this one as it has powerful message and is quite an uplifting movie :)

Queen - this Queen is here to stay :)

I am so glad chose to watch this wonderful feel good movie on this special day, this movie revolves around the sensibilities of a middle class Punjabi family in Delhi and their shy daughter whose marriage comes to a halt before it could get accomplished. As much as the plot seems predictable and something we have heard before but its the treatment, a great story line, heartwarming performances which makes all the difference and lets us the decide the barrier between a good movie and a bad movie and Bollywood this week has indeed come up with a good movie a movie which will leave a good feeling behind and let you be hopeful about life again and always renew the hidden confidence in you again. Yes the movie belongs to Kangna Ranaut and she has come back with a complete author backed role and regains our faith in her supreme acting capabilities, but having said that must admit she had a brilliant supporting star cast. Rajkumar Rao this guy is simply outstanding, hope we get see more and more of him. Lisa Haydon loved her character she was super cool bought so much of spunk every time she came onto the screen. Mish Boyko [as Olik], Jeffrey Ho [as Taka], Guitobh Joseph [as Tim] and Marco Canadea [as Marcello] contribute wonderfully to their respective parts. The actors enacting the part of Kangna's parents, especially the grand-mom are lovely. Its a fantastic second movie by Director Vikas Bahl after his 2011 release 'Chillar Party' I had quite liked 'Chillar Party' too A real man to have made such a wonderful woman oriented movie ..respect :) Soothing music from Amit Trivedi The scene that I loved the most(actually clapped at a scene after a long time) and is really close to my heart and my life is the one in which Kangna's character returns her engagement ring happily and chooses a life of true happiness and no thats not another man but of a life full of great friends, travel experiences and doing what her heart and free mind tells her to do :) Undoubtedly the best release this weekend :) Absolutely Recommended :) BTW Moral of the story Indian Men are definitely not the best example of the male species ;)

Shaadi Ke Side Effects - Farhan Akhtar is the best part of the movie :)

Shaadi Ke Side Effects - The first half is time pass with some good laughs, its the second half of the movie which is a bit too far fetched and drab too. The one reason which I didn't want to walk out of the theater post interval was the super cool Farhan Akhtar of course :) Vidya Balan was good but this is definitely not her best movie nevertheless a good performance as always from her The character of Purab Kohli was surely not required, though Vir Das was funny but was he really required ?? Few of the incidents are quite real specially getting the right domestic help, the life changing process post having a child in one's life but then why have it if one regrets it so badly we will leave that at that :) So basic moral of the story if you want to remain happy in your marriage lies are a necessity oh come on the director is not saying one needs to have another relationship but just telling your partner you have work and you need to travel but you actually check into a 5 star hotel and have a great time like order the wine you like ,watch the movies that you want to watch or if your budget does not allow you to do so well look for a PG mate then and party with him/her once in a week ...Saket Chaudhary really dude???? Music is ok and loved the entry of Farhan Akhtar in the beginning of the movie. I don't know the movie seemed all very jumbled up to me post interval. I think waiting for this one to come in TV and watching it for free would be a good idea but for Farhan's sake I will say its not a bad movie If you really want to watch go during the weekdays when the tickets are a lot less cheaper or maybe visit that single screen to watch this one or a morning show during weekends Farhan Akhtar you rock :)

Highway - Superb one not to be missed ..

Highway - What a relief to see a non crappy Bollywood masala movie but of course when one is used to garbage the good stuff will take time to have the right effect. The movie dealt with a subject which most of the Indian families have the habit of hiding it under the carpet and that is of child abuse. I have heard of many such experiences where families have hidden such reprimanded the girl/boy and have supported that awful uncle/aunty/nephew/niece. I know of a friend who had to face the wrath of her relatives when she protested her younger cousin brother's advances and her whole set of family started only picking on her and finding her faults. In life it takes a lot of time to forgive and heal oneself but surely its difficult to forget..well life can be brutal at times. Both Alia Bhatt and Ranndeep Hooda have done a brilliant job, heartwarming performances, very very touching. The cinematography is just breathtaking..felt like packing my bags and setting for that trip to Leh again :) Rest of the cast have done a great job too. The few scenes that are going to stay with me are : -The scene where Alia Bhatt's character breaks into a real cute jig with Ranndeep Hooda's friend - The way Alia Bhatt expresses her feelings to Ranndeep Hooda with earnest honesty, the way she says it is totally adorable - The scene where Alia Bhatt shouts at the wretched Uncle If I was in her place I would have have slapped him real tight across his face.. Imtiaz Ali - brilliant job. A R Rahman's music grows into you. I loved the movie and if you want to experience a good cinema off the usual path go for it..

The Wolf of Wall Street - Weird but Entertaining to the core

This movie is bound to blow your mind away, the performances, the gripping storyline. The cycle of life which never spares anyone. Based on the true story of Jordan Belfort from his rise to his fall ..the journey was one hell of a ride. The movie consists of strong sexual content, graphic nudity, drug use and language(f%$#) throughout so the movie falling under adult category is completely justified. The highest score of the movie are the performances and every actor has done a brilliant job of course Leonardo DiCaprio steals the show he definitely deserves an Oscar nomination and maybe an Oscar too Rest of the cast which comprised of the following good actors did a fantastic job as well: Jonah Hill Matthew McConaughey Kyle Chandler Rob Reiner Margot Robbie Jean Dujardin Jon Favreau The movie has loads of humor and yes adult humor. Its close to 3 hr movie but it didn't seem like a stretch at all,I enjoyed the movie thoroughly more so for the awesome performances. The combination of Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio has given us some of the best movies in the last twelve years : Gangs of New York - 2002 The Aviator - 2004 The Departed - 2006 Shutter Island - 2010 The Wolf of Wall Street - 2013 So I am sure we will see a lot of Oscars going to them this season Recommended

47 Ronin - Unexpectedly Good :)

I solely went to see this movie for Keanu Reeves but was mighty pleased with the movie overall. This one is an action adventure movie with some great special effects. Apparently these Samurai's did exist. The movie was a great fun ride. If action adventure is one of your favorite genre then I suggest you watch it and of course in the big screen as thats where its worth it.

12 Years a Slave - Powerful

Based on the true story of Solomon Northup this is one heartbreaking yet powerful movie ... awesome performances but yes the slavery bit can get disturbing ..Gosh aren't we all blessed ..imagine getting abducted and sold as a slave ...Brilliant piece of cinema not to be missed ... A word of caution : its violent ..closed my eyes during few of the scenes.. Chiwetel Ejiofor is outstanding so is Michael Fassbender. Brad Pitt is quite likeable in a brief role.. A great movie from Steve McQueen.. Here's to humanity...
