Gulaab Gang - Worth A Watch for Mads and the entire brilliant cast not Juhi Chawla's best though :)

The presence of Madhuri Dixit - Nene and Juhi Chawla and to add that a women oriented subject was good enough to watch this one. The mixed reviews could not held me back from watching this one and somehow I am glad I did and I did like the movie with its share of flaws. As most you must be aware this movie is loosely based on the real Gulaabi Gang from Bundelkhand as much as director Soumik Sen says its a work of fiction but the inspiration cannot be denied and absolutely nothing wrong with that. The prime focus of this movie is a group of women who takes up varied issues -- domestic violence, dowry, rape, electricity, education, etc. ..no wait the movie actually is about Rajjo - Madhuri Dixit - Nene and watching her emoting, fighting, singing is nothing less of a great experience and full marks to the director to utilize the true potential of this superb actress. I am sorry Juhi Chawla fans which includes me as well - she was good but Mads was Mads class apart and not sure why every time Juhi came in screen she came across more comical than conniving and shrewd and yes she reminded me of the unhealthy Kurkure ads almost all the time :) I wish the movie had dealt with the issues of violence against women in a much more substantial manner , it seemed a bit shallow , rather than having songs they should have invested that time in those issues a bit more. Yes the amount of problems we have in the villages/town/cities of our country , we definitely Gulaab Gang big time just not for the atrocities towards women but for common people..life just isn't fair,.while one thinks which car/bike/dress/bag/shoe to buy next there are many who are thinking how and where will they get their next meal. Next time when we crib that our cities are getting crowded because so many people from small towns and villages are coming we should know its the need of a better life that uproots them from their place and gets them to big concrete jungle..and everyone of us have the right to make our life better right.. Its not a path breaking cinema but definitely a story which will make you ponder and remind you to be thankful about all the beautiful things/relationships/friends that you are bestowed with in this lifetime. Madhuri Dixit you rock and noone ever can take your place :) Come on Indian Film Industry/Bollywood lets see more of her I am sure her best is yet to come :) All the performances are absolutely great as well and topping the list is Divya Jagdale, , Priyanka Bose and Tannishtha Chatterjee . Even with its share of flaws I would recommend this one as it has powerful message and is quite an uplifting movie :)

Queen - this Queen is here to stay :)

I am so glad chose to watch this wonderful feel good movie on this special day, this movie revolves around the sensibilities of a middle class Punjabi family in Delhi and their shy daughter whose marriage comes to a halt before it could get accomplished. As much as the plot seems predictable and something we have heard before but its the treatment, a great story line, heartwarming performances which makes all the difference and lets us the decide the barrier between a good movie and a bad movie and Bollywood this week has indeed come up with a good movie a movie which will leave a good feeling behind and let you be hopeful about life again and always renew the hidden confidence in you again. Yes the movie belongs to Kangna Ranaut and she has come back with a complete author backed role and regains our faith in her supreme acting capabilities, but having said that must admit she had a brilliant supporting star cast. Rajkumar Rao this guy is simply outstanding, hope we get see more and more of him. Lisa Haydon loved her character she was super cool bought so much of spunk every time she came onto the screen. Mish Boyko [as Olik], Jeffrey Ho [as Taka], Guitobh Joseph [as Tim] and Marco Canadea [as Marcello] contribute wonderfully to their respective parts. The actors enacting the part of Kangna's parents, especially the grand-mom are lovely. Its a fantastic second movie by Director Vikas Bahl after his 2011 release 'Chillar Party' I had quite liked 'Chillar Party' too A real man to have made such a wonderful woman oriented movie ..respect :) Soothing music from Amit Trivedi The scene that I loved the most(actually clapped at a scene after a long time) and is really close to my heart and my life is the one in which Kangna's character returns her engagement ring happily and chooses a life of true happiness and no thats not another man but of a life full of great friends, travel experiences and doing what her heart and free mind tells her to do :) Undoubtedly the best release this weekend :) Absolutely Recommended :) BTW Moral of the story Indian Men are definitely not the best example of the male species ;)

Shaadi Ke Side Effects - Farhan Akhtar is the best part of the movie :)

Shaadi Ke Side Effects - The first half is time pass with some good laughs, its the second half of the movie which is a bit too far fetched and drab too. The one reason which I didn't want to walk out of the theater post interval was the super cool Farhan Akhtar of course :) Vidya Balan was good but this is definitely not her best movie nevertheless a good performance as always from her The character of Purab Kohli was surely not required, though Vir Das was funny but was he really required ?? Few of the incidents are quite real specially getting the right domestic help, the life changing process post having a child in one's life but then why have it if one regrets it so badly we will leave that at that :) So basic moral of the story if you want to remain happy in your marriage lies are a necessity oh come on the director is not saying one needs to have another relationship but just telling your partner you have work and you need to travel but you actually check into a 5 star hotel and have a great time like order the wine you like ,watch the movies that you want to watch or if your budget does not allow you to do so well look for a PG mate then and party with him/her once in a week ...Saket Chaudhary really dude???? Music is ok and loved the entry of Farhan Akhtar in the beginning of the movie. I don't know the movie seemed all very jumbled up to me post interval. I think waiting for this one to come in TV and watching it for free would be a good idea but for Farhan's sake I will say its not a bad movie If you really want to watch go during the weekdays when the tickets are a lot less cheaper or maybe visit that single screen to watch this one or a morning show during weekends Farhan Akhtar you rock :)
