The Rum Diary

The Rum Diary - Based on the life of American Journalist Paul Kemp this movie is set in the early 60's in Puerto Rico where there always is a turmoil going on between the local island people and the expats (Americans here). It was quite interesting to see the struggle among people who are constantly in the self destruction mode. Its not a straight simple movie for sure you have to feel the undercurrents and it kind of gives you a feeling danger is lurking around the corner somewhere.Johnny Depp I thought was awesome and loved his performance in this one and he is looking very young in this movie for sure :) I quite liked it

In Time - Interesting

In Time - Now this movie's subject and theme had something totally new to offer an extremely interesting concept which is unheard of imagine a time where people stop aging at 25, but are engineered to live only one more year, having the means to buy your way out of the situation is a shot at immortal youth. So you exchange your the time meant for your life for everything that you would like to possess/eat/drink..super cool concept isn't it ..ya its a pure work of fiction and if you look at it that way 100% chances are there that you will surely enjoy this movie :)

Dolphin Tale - Beautiful Movie

Dolphin Tale - Very inspiring very positive the kind of movie I can recommend it to any age group any point of time. This movie is based on a true incident about a lonely and friendless boy finds and untangles a hurt dolphin that is caught in a crab trap. The boy becomes very attached to the dolphin when the tail must be taken off to save the dolphin's life. The boy believes the dolphin would be ab...le to swim normally if it was given a prosthetic tail and rest of the story is about his struggle and triumph in achieving the same. This one is a simply brilliant story extremely well narrated given the boundaries of its simplicity. Both the child actors are great.Ashley Judd is pleasant.Morgan Freeman yet again proves the length of the role is inconsequential this guy just has to rant few lines and he has your attention completely and keeps you pining for more.A must watch I would undoubtedly term this one as my best watch this weekend.Go for it...Don't miss this one ...

The Adventures of Tintin - Don't Miss It Anything For Anything In The World

The Adventures of Tintin - As much as I was looking forward to this one must say I completely enjoyed it and it was totally worth the anticipation and the wait. The animation is of first rate totally spectacular.I have read ample Tintin comics and given an opportunity would still read them provided I can take out time from my movie watching :) The movie is as gripping as the books and must say not a single dull moment in the movie it keeps you asking for more.Tintin,Snowy,Thomson twins and Haddocks and his blistering barnacles are here to stay :) Don't miss this for anything in the world :) I mean it :)

Rocstar - Awesome

Rockstar - This is an unconventional love story much above the conventional right and wrong of the society but what makes this movie totally worth it is the presence of Ranbir Kapoor he really is the real rockstar the whole metamorphosis from Janardan to Jordan can't think of any actor of his generation who could have done this role this well and take it to another level and what I loved the most ...was that despite of all the changes there was a bit of Janardan still left in him and boy does he look good just couldn’t take my eyes from him for a single moment ;) Nargis Fakhri the new discovery comes with a whiff of fresh air she is sweet ,sexy and there is something very vulnerable about her which makes her all the more appealing must say she is a complete stunner.Shernaz Patel is damn good so is the actor who plays the role of Ranbir’s manager is just brilliant. Must give it to Imtiaz Khan on coming up with a subject of this sort and handling it quite well. Filmmaking is an art and it should be experimented in its various forms and I am glad we have some people who does not get stuck to monotonous masala way of entertainment Imtiaz Khan is one such guy and we are blessed . Music is fabulous of course by the Maestro AR Rahman. The chemistry between Ranbir and Nargis completely rocks and is a treat to see them when they realize their true feelings for each other.
I would surely recommend this one

Happy Feet Two (3D) - Nice One

Happy Feet Two (3D) - Must say no one can beat the animated movies produced from Hollywood each of them are different and the 3D effects seem to be only getting better with each year. This one is a real cute movie with superb 3D effects apart from the penguins there are Krills with the voiceovers s from Matt Damon and Brad Pitt which gives an interesting angle to this story of self recognition, self importance and self acceptance, quite inspiring.I quite liked it and would recommend the same let the child in you unleash once in a way and enjoy the simple pleasures which life has to offer :)

The Help - A Must Watch

The Help - Based on the novel by Kathryn Stockett this a beautiful story set in the early 60s where civil rights movement was at its peak and the new era of equality was not far behind and the struggle before the triumph there are joys and tears both in the movie overall a great movie just loved it,with exceptional performances by Viola Davis, Emma Stone, Octavia Spencer, Bryce Dallas Howard and Allison Janney. Veteran actresses Sissy Spacek and Cicely Tyson.A Must Watch.

One Day - Nice Romantic Drama

One Day - Based on a novel by David Nichol this is a beautiful love story with its sad as well as uplifting moments, it spans from 1988 to 2011 unfolding the love story in its utmost special way. Both Anne Hathway and Jim Sturgess are just awesome and their chemistry surely does work which is the most essential factor for any love story.Nice romantic movie.Recommended.

The Ides Of March - Interesting

The Ides Of March - This political thriller probes into the dark and dirty world of politics, the games people play to get ahead and that I think is just not limited to politics but in every sphere of our lives be it professional or personal.Excellent performances by Ryan Gosling,Philip Seymor Hoffman,Evan Rachel Wood,Paul Giamati,Marissa Tomei and George Clooney of course but the maximum points I would award to Ryan Gosling he really does the carry the movie on his shoulder. So no light fluffy

stuff here but an interesting movie for sure..

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 - Cheesy

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 - This is one masala flick from Hollywood which reminded me of Bollywood big time I must say :) Very cheesy I am sure the book isn't like this though I must admit I haven't read the book but still I am assured the book is much better. And this one is coming from a Director who has made movies like ‘Dreamgirls’ and ‘Kinsey’ well I guess it’s ok to take creativity to another level. So if you have been watching the ‘Twilight’ series of movies then I suggest go for it and yes despite of written what I have written I am waiting for the part 2 to release in November 2012 ;)

Desi Boyz - Entertaining

Desi Boyz – I was mentally prepared to watch some extreme senseless madness, crass humor, glorification of male strippers and of course the hot combination of Akshay Kumar ,Chitrangada Singh, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone but to be honest I was actually quite surprised with a movie which is not bad when I compare it to the umpteenth masala flicks that gets churned out of Bollywood week after w...eek, must say the last two months of the year 2011 would turn out the best for Bollywood like the first two months of year 2011 (Jan and Feb 2011 did have some good Hindi movie releases for sure).
This one is a complete feel good comedy far away from reality of course but then what the hell that’s what movies are supposed to do take you away from the humdrum and reality of life
Akshay Kumar was really good in terms of acting apart from looking super good it was really great to see him in a good form after a long time.
John Abraham is super hot and acting is ok too
Deepika Padukone awesome just love this Bangalore girl
Chitrangada Singh please come in movies often she is fabulous
Last but not the least welcome Director Rohit Dhawan its all in the family I guess (he is son of director – David Dhawan)
Music is hummable so I would recommend this one rest assured you will not get bored for sure and won’t demand your money back

The Muppets

The Muppets - I was quite a follower of this show during school days and this movie brought back those memories ,this one is extremely entertaining and adorable movie about the muppets reuniting for a big show and regain the muppet theater,it was a sheer delight to watch all the muppets from different corners of their life getting together for the same goal. All you muppet lovers please don't miss this movie this is one of a kind.Enjoyed it thoroughly :)

The Dirty Picture - Not Dirty but Sultry and Sexy :)

The Dirty Picture - Nothing dirty about it but everything sultry, sexy with a real good story and fantastic performances.Vidya Balan 10/10 for the most awesomest performance Girl you deserve a standing ovation and now I can surely see Vidya in the league of Smita Patil,Shabana Azmi I have always liked her now I just love her for a portrayal so fantastic and taking up a role which requires whole lot... of courage and guts in a society where everyone is obsessed with this quintessential image of good girl..way to go Vidya Balan proud of you..you are just brilliant thank God we have a Vidya Balan :)
Amazingly well written story by Rajat Arora and the dialogues are superb
Milan Luthria please make more of these kind of movies.
Ekta Kapoor & Shobha Kapoor - All your 3rd rate TV serials could be overlooked when you produce movies of this stature...Keep the money rolling for these kind of movies :)
Naseeruddin Shah - Awesome portrayal of a bastard of an old superstar only great acting can get the audience hating a character this way,so you were superb so what if I wanted to slap your character really hard on his face and break his

bones :)
Tushhar - Good portrayal of a slimeball character who has no spine at all
Emran Hashmi - You are not bad for sure :)
Anju Mahendroo - Loved her portrayal of the bitch of a journalist she was fabulous there is still something very sexy about her ..
Real good movie don't miss it oh yes not meant for kids.
Oooh la la it is my friends :)

Puss in Boots

Puss in Boots - Extremely entertaining movie from Dreamworks.Puss in Boots has been my favorite character since childhood and seeing a full fledged movie dedicated on him apart from the Shrek series is sheer joy to watch and there is a bit of other popular fairytale characters as well like that of Humpty Dumpty and a yes there is a bit of the Beanstalk story thrown into but overall a real good result.
And the voice overs by Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek are just excellent what a sexy combination couldn't have been better choices for the voice overs for sure.Fantastic Animation.Recommended :)
