Based on a play by David Lindsay-Abaire this movie is an emotional journey of a happy couple (Nicole Kidman & Aaron Eckhart) whose life comes upside down when they lose their four year son in a freak helpless accident yes sad as it sounds so are the circumstances and situations tackled by this couple..the ups and down and it is downs most of downs when people get this feeling everyone is having a great life except for them and their insecurities come up in various different ways which are negative of course.
The couple trying cope up the tragedy by attending dinners, bereavement groups and none seem to be helping them and the wife trying to give away the clothes of her son, deleting the video from her husband's mobile are truly emotional and realistic scenes ...don't we all try to forget our deep hidden pains in various and the more we try to hide them the more it seems to surface up ultimately one has to face it up and deal with it upfront to get through with it for once and for all and this has been portrayed most simply yet beautifully in this movie.
I would say everyone's performance is great but Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart are outstanding.
So if you are looking for a good story with great performances go for this one you won't regret..I loved it.
