Bombay Talkies - Four real good stories with great performances.

Karan Johar's story was something you would never expect from him keeping his previous track record of movies in mind. Rani Mukherjee was fabulous so was Ranndeep Hooda and the new kid Saqib Salim was a pleasant surprise. Dibakar Banerjee's story was good but it gets a monotonous the saving grace was of course Nawazuddin Siddique's fantastic performance. Zoya Akhtar's story was the sweetest one. Loved the child artiste his expressions were so so adorable. Anurag Kashyap's story reminded of a DD telefilm I had seen during my school days, the idol worship madness captured very well. This set of four stories is sheer good cinema capturing the essence of all the emotions we experience quite well. Loved the last song when all the big names of Bollywood came together and also the bit where they show clippings of Hindi movies right from its inception till date. This one is no commercial mish mash but good cinema and worth a watch for sure :)
