Posto (Bengali) - Powerful story clubbed with excellent performances
Life without emotions undoubtedly would be drab and monotonous and the pros and cons of it depends on the control we have on our emotions.
If we to let go of our attachments life would be so much simpler but to let go and live a life of lesser and lesser attachment is a lifetime experience and not so easy.
The movie is an emotional drama with life's bittersweet moments which is very real.
The story has strong emotional content and because of the outstanding performances by the entire cast,it keeps the audience engaged with light moments and moments where one's eyes can get moist, such is life anyway :)
The debate on tradition vs modernity is quite interesting and tug of war between parents and grandparents for the child is emotional to the core.
It's a fact in today's racy world many a times grandparents are used as babysitters by working couples, the movie shows that aspect in the most real manner.
Shantiniketan looks beautiful, great choice of location indeed.
Arghya Basu Roy the child actor as Posto is the best, a live wire, abundant bundle of energy.
Soumitra Chatterjee is outstanding ,stalwarts are like this I guess.
Lily Chakraborty is excellent, she is a fabulous actress.
Jishu Sengupta is very good
Paran Bannerjee is superb, its a treat to watch him on the screen.
Sohini Sengupta Halder as the fuming lawyer is another to look out for,she is real mean as the lawyer but a fantastic actress
Mimi Chakraborty is just about ok.
Another real good movie by director duo - Nandita Roy and Shibprasad Mukhopadhyay
Recommended surely and the movie has English subtitles so not knowing Bengali won't matter.
