The Zookeeper's Wife - Strong story with excellent performances

Based on the non-fiction book of the same name written by the poet and naturalist Diane Ackerman, she was inspired from the unpublished diary of Antonina Żabiński, it recounts the true story of how she and her husband, Jan Żabiński, director of the Warsaw Zoo, saved the lives of 300 Jews who had been imprisoned in the Warsaw Ghetto following the German invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939. The couple gave all they had to save all they could, indeed when we take care of the broken and discarded, there is a rejuvenation which occurs within and for the ones that are taken care of. To live in uncertain times but for the ray of hope and the belief that one day things will be alright it does take a lot of courage, grit and loads of determination to keep one going. There's a beautiful line in the movie which will stay with me forever,'You look into the eyes of the animal and you know what they are thinking, but people are not like that' and oh so true it is :) Jessica Chastain is outstanding as Antonina Żabiński,a woman of abundant strength portrayed extremely well. Johan Heldenbergh as Jan Żabiński is superb. Daniel Brühl as Lutz Heck is excellent. A strong story with excellent performances by the entire cast makes this one so worth a watch. Its not flying in the air which gives birth to superheroes but simple acts of kindness which makes an ordinary human being a super one. Great job by director Niki Caro. This one is a beautiful movie, absolutely recommended. Life is all about hope and never giving up.
