Haider - Brilliant movie

The early 1990s and every time an armed forces personnel getting posted to the most beautiful valley of this country rest assured the family members would be dead scared of his safety but someone's got to do the dirty job I guess and do it right Having said the above no movie ever has or will ever capture the trauma of Kashmir ..the answers will always remain unanswered..ask the child who has lost his dad ,the mother who has lost his son, the wife who has lost his husband, the sister who has lost his brother, the friend who has lost his/her BFF forever... The trauma of the many Kashmiri families where many of their family members have disappeared never to be found again...thats something we will see as onlookers will feel bad but can never really understand. After his earlier films MAQBOOL and OMKARA, Vishal Bhardwaj brings to us yet another Shakespearean treat in the form of of this movie, which is an Indian adaptation of Shakespeare's HAMLET. Hamlet, is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare .Set in the Kingdom of Denmark, the play dramatizes the revenge Prince Hamlet is instructed to enact on his uncle Claudius. Claudius had murdered his own brother, Hamlet's father King Hamlet, and subsequently seized the throne, marrying his deceased brother's widow, Hamlet's mother Gertrude. Hamlet is Shakespeare's longest play and among the most powerful and influential tragedies in English literature so the movie is a 2 hr 41 mts movie..chopping it off would be at the risk of playing with the essence of the subject. This movie stars some of the superlative talents of the country in the form of Shahid Kapoor, Tabu, Kay Kay Menon, Irrfan Khan, Shraddha Kapoor so the reasons for having high expectations from this movie is but obvious and it does not disappoint on that front not a bit, brilliant performances by all the actors I loved the first half of the movie, its totally engrossing and gives one goosebumps , the second half is also great but just for few minutes it had lost its fizz a bit and just a bit otherwise engrossing... it doesn't let you leave the world of Haider. Haider belongs to Shahid Kapur he is simply superb..just shows with the right director the acting skills does get honed up. Loved Shahid's explanation of the term 'chutzpah' to everyone Shraddha Kapoor is loveable in her part as the innocent girl who is madly in love with Haider. Narendra Jha, who plays Shahid's father, doesn't have many scenes in the film, but the few scenes that he has will haunt you till the end of the movie. Kay Kay Menon, as the evil mind uncle is nothing less than brilliant and he always is I think Tabu, as Ghazala was mind blowing really sad Bollywood does not give the right opportunities to this awesome actress..sheer pleasure watching her...another reason I have been waiting to watch this movie. The rest of the actors (Kulbhushan Kharbanda after a long time on screen, Aashish Vidyarthi, Aamir Bashir and others are quite good as well. My facebook friend costume designer and brilliant actress herself Dolly Ahluwalia Tewari has given some awesome costumes which captures the Kashmiri sense of dressing so beautifully..full marks to her for that. The movie is beautifully shot as expected This may not be an entertaining movie but a movie which will make you ponder and maybe you will thank again about the current situation of your life. I loved the movie and surely recommend and yes not meant for kids May the good movies always win over the bad ones and thats only possible when we the audience chose well :)
