Well I know I have been kind of out of sorts with the blogging bit but after watching 'When in Rome' I just had to blog well that was the effect the this romantic comedy had on me :)
To start with I am completely obsessed with romantic comedies and this movie fits the bill totally....
The story goes something like this Beth(Kristen Bell) is a young, ambitious New Yorker who is completely unlucky in love. However, on a whirlwind trip(her sister's impromptu wedding)to Rome, she impulsively steals some coins from a reputed fountain of love, and is then aggressively pursued by a band of suitors.And in midst of all this confusion she meets the real guy.
The story is not out of the world but the treatment given to this story definitely makes it worth a watch..its funny its romantic its totally my kind :)
Surely recommend this one...forget all your worries and watch this one:)
P.S : Girlies Josh Duhamel is definitely a dish to watch out for ;);)

Oscar Nominated Movies of 2010
Avatar - An absolute must watch for its sheer 3D magic and the touching storyline.The world that Cameron creates is stunning, mesmerizing, and pure: the special effects are amazing.
The Blind Side - The heartwarming story of Michael Oher, a homeless and traumatized boy who became an All American football player and first round NFL draft pick with the help of a caring woman and her family.Sandra Bullock has a real strong chance at the Oscars for her excellent performance for this one.Do not miss this one.
District 9 - An extraterrestrial race forced to live in slum-like conditions on Earth suddenly finds a kindred spirit in a government agent who is exposed to their biotechnology.It is a unique movie yes but no not the one I would recommend at all...I just hated watching sorry but true....
An Education - A coming-of-age story about a teenage girl in 1960s suburban London, and how her life changes with the arrival of a playboy nearly twice her age.Carey Mulligan who gives a remarkable performance and she is nominated for her performance too.A lovely juvenile film with good performances from just everybody.
The Hurt Locker - An intense portrayal of elite soldiers who have one of the most dangerous jobs in the world: disarming bombs in the heat of combat. When a new sergeant, James, takes over a highly trained bomb disposal team amidst violent conflict, he surprises his two subordinates, Sanborn and Eldridge, by recklessly plunging them into a deadly game of urban combat. James behaves as if he's indifferent to death. As the men struggle to control their wild new leader, the city explodes into chaos, and James' true character reveals itself in a way that will change each man forever.Brilliant Movie.
Inglorious Basterds - In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis.Another great movie from Tarantino..
Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire - Its about an overweight, illiterate teen in Harlem who is pregnant with her second child is invited to enroll in an alternative school in hopes that her life can head in a new direction,we see her trying to learn to write, being a single parent, and getting out of potentially dangerous situations. It adds for a fuller and richer film that feels more heartfelt.
Precious is actually a very positive film about how to stand through these trials of life. You will see scenes in this film that will irk you, but enough of the film is good-spirited , that leaving the film you will feel good about yourself, and with a positive outlook on your own life. It also makes one grateful for the fortunate situations we're all in, because I don't think anyone has it rougher than Precious in this film.
A Serious Man - A black comedy centered on Larry Gopnik, a Midwestern professor who watches his life unravel when his wife prepares to leave him because his inept brother won't move out of the house.It's a sort of sarcastic philosophy, questions without answers wonderfully expressed world's refinement of cruelty constantly putting you into a dilemma, whether you want to be like Larry Gopnik honest, kindhearted but weak or like other characters here strong but slippery, showing to everybody spurious respect? That's theorotical question isn't it? Probably you don't want to take up both attitudes but how to be honest and strong? That's a question that left without any answer here; here we just provided by opposite kinds of personality nothing more, Coen do not trying to influence on spectators, they suggesting making our own conclusions and decisions. ''Watch & decide'' is the motto here.
Up - By tying thousands of balloon to his home, 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream to see the wilds of South America. Right after lifting off, however, he learns he isn't alone on his journey, since Russell, a wilderness explorer 70 years his junior, has inadvertently become a stowaway on the trip.Its a great combination of adventure-fantasy-comedy-suspense-sentimental story.A must watch. It's really a feast for the eyes.
Up In The Air - Based on the novel by Walter Kirn, George Clooney stars as corporate downsizing expert Ryan Bingham, who is hired to help ease the transition of long-term employees to the unemployment line across the country. Taking his job very seriously and loving the 290 days away from home—the only problem with that is the 70 days at home in his empty apartment—his world gets turned upside-down when a young upstart in the company threatens to ground the company to fire people via the internet. Not standing for a change in his life, nor the chance for his life goal of total airline miles to end, he goes on a mission to prove how personal his job is and how key a face to face meeting can be to talk down an emotionally unstable person and really do the victim a service in an otherwise horrible moment in his life. Along the way, he and the recent college grad, of which the boss loves due to her budget slashing game-changing idea, Natalie, played by Anna Kendrick, both find out what has been lacking in their lives and how to become better people, opening up to love, heartbreak, and the need to grow up.Every single actor is nforgettable—even the bit parts like Zach Galifianakis and especially J.K. Simmons as two corporate employees who's jobs have been eliminated. I could relate to this movie very well having experienced downsizing myself last year :)And George Clooney's performance proves that he just keeps getting better with age.An Absolute must watch.
Now can't wait to watch the Oscars live :)

De Dana Dan
The great entertainers are back thats the tagline but trust me it does anything but entertaining....
Story wise well if one insists about it,the gist of it, at least in the first act, tells of two men Nitin (Akshay Kumar) and Ram (Suneil Shetty) who are both drowned by their debts and stuck in jobs with no prospects. Their respective girlfriends Anjani (Katrina Kaif) and Manpreet (Sameera Reddy) happen to be from wealthy backgrounds, and their parents see it as material benefit should they be wedding other well to do folks and starts the introduction of mishmash of 27 lunatic characters in the movie..
Both men now become desperate in not wanting to lose their lady love, and crack up the most insane of plots involving kidnapping, which soon spiralled out of control to involve an Indian ambassador, their girlfriends parents, a sneaky hotel employee, a bumbling hit-man, a mafia Don, a corrupt practices police inspector (though his rank is only that of sergeant), a mistress, and plenty of mistaken identities to make everyone beat around the bush in the most absurd manner, leaving you the audience having to open your eyes and ears to link everyone's relationship, motivation and intentions, both real, perceived and deliberately under deceit.
The last scene too fell prey to the largest bugbear of the movie, and that's where scenes were dragged out longer than its welcome not that other sequences in the movie were welcome but the end takes the cake it became unbearable to say the least..
Hoping Priyadarshan's comedy would be a laugh riot but honestly it was nowhere close to even satisfactory...Avoid it...

A Christmas Carol - An animated retelling of Charles Dickens classic novel about a Victorian-era miser taken on a journey of self-redemption, courtesy of several mysterious Christmas apparitions.Well the story is timeless and this movie does a good job of telling it.The animated visual effects are amazing.The story is timeless.
Robert Zemeckis has done come up with another beautiful animated movie for this beautiful season...its as awesome as the polar express

An awesome gourmet of great performances and story indeed..
'Julie & Julia' a rather delightful movie,both Amy Adams and Meryl Streep are equally lovable not to forget the equally lovable men Stanley Tucci & Chris Messina who give these wonderful women able support :) And plan your dinner/lunch after watching this movie :) this movie surely does magic to your appetite :) loved ...the way Meryl Streep says I have been looking for a career all my life and finally found it :)
